How often have people got burned?

Twenty or so (?) trades, never once been burned. One time a guy was really monosyllablic in his BMs but that's the closest thing I've had to a bad experience, and I'd trade with that guy any day of the week. I'm a lot more talkative but some people aren't at all.

 

I hear you. Hate being part of that "group". It's too bad an 800's credit score, 12 year 100% + ebay feedback rating buying/selling, likes to party, honorable person has to wade through this toxic group. I don't mind the risk of shipping first as much as I mind waiting for my beer! =)

I know some have mentioned "who are these people that show up and register and start trading for whales". I have been in the San Diego scene for years just never bothered with the online component of craft beer. I don't think that suspicion fits. For awhile I paid ripoff prices to "my guy" for Founders in San Diego etc, then moved to ebay, then wound up here. No sinister plot.

 

Man, I wish I would have known about this list. I have about 50 trades completed, but am about to be burned by JoshVandy, I'm afraid. Sent him 2x Oude Tart and as extras, a Stone glass and a bomber of Grand Funk AleRoad.
Live and learn I guess.

With about 30 trades since the beginning of the year, I have not had one bad trade. One mistake where I was supposed to receive 2 - 2011 Darkness', but received 2 - 2010 Darkness' instead. Not a big deal, because I traded for the 2011 a month later with the same guy

 

Unfortunately a lot of people just like you (and me) get lumped into the "NOOB" group. I have been drinking craft beers for years. I even lurked this site for years before deciding to start trading. I never signed up until I decided to start trading and I'm sure a lot of people who are active traders but don't love the message board posting aspect of things feel the same.

 

He has you listed on his spreadsheet. How is this guy not banned? He is active on the forums.

Not enough people know about the list. If everyone would post it on their profile to get it out there

 

As a new trader i just took a look at the list and from the amount of trades that i see on BA that is not a very big list of bad traders. Assuming all of the bad traders have been reported. So take that for what its worth. More often than not your going to have a good experience trading here. So far 2 trades down and happy.

 

Because most people getting burned don't know there's a list and they don't say anything as they hope the other will end up shipping.
