Looking for one for a gift for a friend, I have access to jester king. What would it take to land one? Just curious , not a trade thread. Just trying to get an idea.

If I remember right, there were less than 1,000 bottles of 750ml black note on the first release. It was a 2 bottle limit per person at the Bells store with a silent release. That was probably 2 or 3 years ago. Also as a personal note on black note... the 750ml bottle was my least favorite blend of black note; it seemed fairly bland. The 12oz bottles seem to taste substantially better from the 2013 and 2014 releases.

750 bottles of Black Note in one place is pretty rare. Probably seen only on the bottling line.

I can say theres at least 666! had that one at a share early this year. Ditto on the 750vs12oz argument, go for the 12oz.

Just looked up that pic, and saw that it was bottle 666 of 1,081. So there you have it, 1,081 bottles.

I can confirm the 355>750 argument. Had a pour from a 750 when it was first released and thought "this is what all the hype is about?" Swore if off since then until having a pour from a 12oz a few weeks ago and was quite surprised by how much I liked it (and how much more prominent the barrel character was).

LOL. No, traded for a bottle of 750 of black note back when it was released. I was underwhelmed with it back in 2012. Now I enjoy back note more than BCBS. Perhaps changing taste buds or the fact that black note has a creamier mouthfeel. Or the fact that Bells released a subpar batch in the 750 bottles(this is the reason that I am going with).

I shared the 750ml bottle with my tasting group of 3 other people and we all thought the exact same thing, that the barrel character was fairly underwhelming.

BN 750s are now known as "Poison" 750s!

Honestly though, there are threads here where people claim the 750 is a better blend than either 12oz version. I can only speak for the 12oz offering, and it's delicious!

That is so interesting that people think the 12ozers are better because I'm the complete opposite. My 750 had a good year on it in the cellar but once I cracked it open it was the greatest stout that I had ever had. I keep looking for the same taste from the 2012 & 2014 but don't get it. I felt the 750 had more bourbon on it & mixed in better than the 12oz

There were two releases of Black Note 750 ml. February 2012 was the first, and as it was stated above, there were 1,081 bottles. It was released again in the 750 ml format just a couple weeks before it came out in 4-packs, which was somewhere around December 2012. I don't recall the exact bottle count of the second release, but it's somewhere around 1,500 give or take.
