I meant to head down to Boulder but it slipped my mind somehow.
So, did you guys buy ALL the stout? :slight_frown:
    Anyone crack one open?
Have we already talked about this!?

Its good. Boozy as hell. Definitely a sipping beer. I'm told this one will age well. Can't wait to try a bottle here and there down the road. Walked up 30 minutes after they started selling and there was barely a line to get the beers.

The release was very smooth. Avery has releases down now. The best part for me was the BA Meph & Rumpkin they had flowing though.

Other than the barrel aging, how does this beer differ from Mephistopheles? Definitely hoping some makes it down to Denver.

It is a totally different beer then Meph, the only thing the same is they are both imperial stouts and from Avery. Totally different grain bill, different aging, different yeast, different about everything.

As to how good it is? Well, for me, this was a "dip balls in it" good lol. As soon as it starts moving around the country through hundreds of trades, give it some time...this is going to be up there with Dark Lord, KtG, CBS, so on and so forth. FINALLY, Colorado is going to have a whale stout (maybe BA Yeti, too)

That sounds amazing. Always looking for something new and good to dip my balls in. So if I see it I should pick up multiple bottles then? Check. Any idea when distribution will start?

Whale's become whale's because of internet hype so you just sush up and help build the hype train lol. You all want a giant box of beers in trade for 1-2 Uncle Jacob's as much as me lol don't lie

With the 17% ABV, dipping will result in a pleasant tingling

It will hit shelves next week. I had another last night. Man, it is pretty hot. Still very drinkable, but a year will absolutely perfect this beer. (A year, just in time to buy more to replenish when it comes out NEXT YEAR!!!)

Needs lots of time to settle as others have said. I picked up 6 at the release and drank one the night of.

For Avery, and in comparison to rumpkin, I wasn't impressed. If you like bourbon though, you will love it. If it was from any other brewery I would say it was amazing, but this is Avery we are talking about...

I thought is was delicious, though I was admittedly already under the influence of Apple Whiskey G'Knight (hit Tasty Weasel first), Rumpkin and BA Mephaddict.

I had a wild Turkey Ten fidy at strong ale fest. I hate Wild Turkey and not a huge fan of Ten Fidy either. but this beer kicked ass. I was shocked and was one of my favorites of the night
