Ah ok, your getting what we had most of last week. If it was 80 and sunny I’m sure it would get interesting. I haven’t heard of any problems here or the SC beaches.

I think practically speaking, enforcing masks would be impossible, or at least not practical. Too many will fight it, many will likely be aggressive and violent about it. So while I do think wearing masks in public should be a transitional step in the re-opening of society, I can understand not making it one.

With that said, I don't see how mask wearing in public isn't the same as smoking in public. If someone can get tested an prove they are negative, there is no need for a mask (then the question becomes, how long is that negative result valid, daily, weekly, etc?). But until then, smoking in public has been banned for the health of the community, why shouldn't the same principal apply with masks? Especially in this time when we are facing a virus we have limited understanding of. I go through life with the better safe than sorry approach, so its my natural predisposition to err on the side of caution.

My issue isn't with voluntary environments, it's more about the workers and their rights. I can choose not to go to these events as I wish, an employee does not have that choice. And, personally, I don't support the argument that that choosing between working and health is a choice.

    Just IMO.

Ocean Beach, Maryland on Saturday. Doesn't look like a place I would want to visit with or without people / distancing.

If I venture East of Bell's Brewery, I prefer not to stop until I reach Maine / Quebec. :sunglasses:

Oh, when the sun beats down and burns the tar up on the roof
And the crowd gets so large. you wish your family was Covid proof.....

It’s up to the place of business providing a service to enforce it. No mask no service. Have a company policy that is clearly posted so the only offender you will have is an occasional Karen.

Damn it people. The masks are to protect other people or their contacts, not the wearer. Liberty is not a right to hurt others.

I have a problem with your logic.

Liberty is not the right to knowingly hurt others.

If you or anybody else wants to protect yourself from me or anybody else by all means, shelter in place, wear your masks, get your food and merchandise delivered, that is your right.

If I want to take the chance of the person next to me having germs (that has always happened and will never stop) and I want to go out then that is my right.

If a person knows they have the flue, Covid-19, a cold, SARS, Ebola or anything that is contagious then they should stay in and protect others.

The world never has, can not, and should not shut down because there is a virus.

    A. I am talking about non-mask wearing people in places like grocery stores where sometimes, others cannot avoid.
    B. The knowledge of infection is hidden for up to 2-weeks with this virus. So a person does not know they are doing harm.

I am regretting getting into this. This site should be about beer. Have a virtual beer with me now friend. We're all on this world together, enjoy.

If you wear your mask in the grocery store my imaginary germs wont reach your nose or mouth any more than if I was wearing my feel good mask. You have the right to wear your mask and I have the right to not wear mine.

Cheers. I couldn't drink the beer through a mask so I am enjoying it without one.

The local news stations have been reporting on conditions at the Jersey shore and everything they are showing and reporting on looks like things are good but the weather isn't the greatest (cool, cloudy, spotty rain). Maybe once the weather becomes more like beach weather things will be different?

    Cheers!

I’m sure, if it was 80 and sunny the governor would have had a stroke. I’m sure he was praying for rain and shitty weather.

So, the 'rules' when you are on the boardwalk is to wear masks. If you are on the beach and 6 ft. away from others you are still 'encouraged' to wear a mask but...

    Cheers!

Some towns near here have set up picnic tables down by the river and have encouraged people to take their food and drinks, including alcohol there to sit outside and enjoy nature. I, too, hope these measures live on beyond Coronavirus.

My favorite drinking spot has reopened. I’m torn between giving them much needed business and the fear that we’re jumping the gun by relaxing the rules too soon. As usual, hindsight will be 20/20.
