Say there was a very rare and sought after beer typically only available in bottles, that showed up on tap. Would you value a crowler of a bottle of the same kind of beer as much as the bottle itself? Or possibly more?

Crowlers have more liquid (32 oz vs 22 oz, assuming its a bomber) but only (conservatively) last a month, where as the bottle can last.... a very long time. Which would you value more?

It really depends how the crowler is filled. If it's co2 purged then filled with a bottle gun or tube from the bottom it's essentially a can. If it's poured in directly from the faucet, a ton of o2 is introduced and it's no different then a growler.

There's no single answer as it depends on the beer (including how the growler is filled) and the traders. I'd start with the cost (the pour plus the growler) and negotiate until both sides are happy.

It depends on what's in the bottle. IPAs start to decline after a few weeks, and beers with adjuncts have a limited shelf life if not refrigerated.
