How you pronounce "Optimator"

    No, jonb5 is closer, the "a" is a long one: Op-teh-MAY-tor.

    Though, I can definitely hear an English accent pronouncing the long "e" tea -- and no, that's not a joke on the English and tea. :wink:

    It is a long one, but it's MAHHH not MAYYY. It's not Sal VAY tor either.

    Hmm. Can't agree on the Optimator, but do agree on Sal-VAH-tor -- was corrected by an Oma at the S-Bahn station while looking for the Keller. :wink: I always said SAL-va-tor and it confused the woman :grinning:, but never got a lesson when asking for Op-ti-MAY-tor.

    I've always said "mah" and not "may" based on how I was taught Deutsch.... fwiw....
