Ok guys I made this last summer and it turned out great, I made slight changes to it by adding more late hops and less bittering let me know what you guys think! DOUBLE IPA RECIPE 1.093/1.023 (5 Gal) Grain Bill 14 lbs. - 2 Row Pale Malt 1 lb. - Crystal Malt (20L) 1 lb. - Munich Malt (10L) 1 lb. - Carapils 90 min boil time Hop Schedule 1.0 oz - worrior (90 min.) 1 oz - chinook (15 min.) 1 oz- chinook ( 10 min.) 1 oz - Centennial (5 min.) DRY HOP 1 oz cascade -dry hop 14 days 2 oz columbus- dry hop 14 days 2 oz centennial- dry hop 14 days 2 oz simcoe- dry hop 14 days Wyeast 1056 3.2 liter starter Mash/Sparge/Boil Mash at 152° for 90 min. Sparge as usual Cool and ferment at 66° to 68°
Sounds pretty great to me. The pound of munich wont add much to the recipe, you could probably sub it out for more pale malt.
yeah going to dry hop the crap out of it lol, this was a awsome recipe guys! Again only need to cut back on the bittering 1 oz I think and it will be even better!
Personally I would skip the crystal malt. The pound of Munich will give that small amount of malt character you are looking for .I would also recommend mashing at 149F for a little drier beer. The dry hopping schedule looks great except I would skip the 1oz of Cascade as I don't think you will really get anything from it as the other three hops you are using are much more aggressive.
