It just says around 5:00-6:00. I imagine it will depend on how swamped places get.

Appears the news has crashed PTF.com

Probably try Strangelove's around 5. I imagine they will be packed when they open.

does this mean The Alchemist might be distributing in Philly?

Probably not. They released some Heady Topper into the SEPA market back in 2012. Some bottle shops were selling single cans, I picked one up.

At the time it was a one-time shipment, and before the hype machine on that beer went into overdrive.

    Maybe.
    • UPDATE: I’m told that Philly will be getting 900 cases of Heady Topper per year, but this has not been confirmed.

    Who's the distributor? I hope it's not Shangy's :slight_frown:

If it does get distributed regularly, I'm assuming it will be through Origlio since they are friends with the alchemist guys.

Hill Farmstead, PtY and HT available here at the same time. Not a bad bunch! I understand Alchemist is literally bringing their own stuff down, but do these Vermont arrivals happen every year/6 mos/whatever or is this a once-in-a-great-while kind of thing?

Hopefully a sign of things to come? One can dream...

Correct. Somewhere it said Origlio's was dropping of the 10 cases at each of the 5 bars.

As for Hill Farmstead - some kegs come each year for special events.

As for Alchemist - I believe the 2012 shipment I referenced in my earlier post was the only previous time.

The March timeframe is considered the start of ‘mud season’ in Vermont.

The ‘story’ of the Philly (and NYC) release of HT a few years ago was that The Alchemist had some ‘extra’ beer since it is common for Vermonters to take vacations right about now to take a break from the mud.

    Cheers!

Origlio dropped the beer off at Strangeloves. Great event.

If the Alchemist wanted to distribute why would they choose Philly as the first place outside of a small area to distribute to?

    Why not?

As a company that thrives on being local why not support more local places first? Portland, Boston, Hartford, NYC, etc?
