Because there are literally a plethora of other markets that are within a 3-4 hour drive that would serve them well as opposed to having to drive the 8-9 hours to Philly.

Boston, New Haven, Hartford, Portland, Upstate NY, Worcester, everywhere else in New England and NY, etc.

Because they have done it before..

We also used to be the only folks to get Hills stuff on draft outside of the state.

They regularly distributed to Philly or dropped a load once in a while?

Last year during mud season they did the exact same thing they did this year.

Once the snow begins to melt it is impossible to drive to Alchemist so they distribute it during this window.(to Philly :grinning:)

although I'm pretty sure every time I have seen it on shelves here it was muled down not through distribution :grimacing:

I take it you're new? Seriously, Philly has by far the best "beer scene" on the East Coast. Nothing else comes close.

Last week Pliny the Younger was on tap where?

Texted my buddy who lives in Philly about this--he was super excited to try it for the first time. Told me he called all 5 places shortly after 5 and was told it was gone.

How long did it last there? The 5 minutes was for Good Dog.

    Let's see, 50 cases/5 bars x 24 cans/case = 240 cans/bar. So you're saying Good Dog sold a can every 1.25 seconds?

You would have thought that they would have limited to a can or two max per person. Ridiculous. Imagine if they sold Square Grouper?

Perhaps they exaggerate, ask them: https://www.facebook.com/gooddogphilly?fref=nf

But if that bar was staffed heavily they could easily blow through 5 cases in less than 10 minutes. It's a fairly large bar located in one of busiest areas of Center City.

Hard to say, they handed out tickets as you walked into the bar. 1 ticket = purchase 1 can. I arrived at 5:15 and was number 56 of the 240. The bar was packed when I walked in and every table was taken. The upstairs had a private event that also had tickets. It looked like a couple people entering did not get a ticket closer to 5:45.

The bar sold then sold the cans at 6pm, so there as no rush to get your beer right away. Finish up your food or current drink and go get some Heady.
