As an original Heady Topper fan boy, I’ve enjoyed the ride over the past seven years. I’m not a true original...my admiration starting right after hurricane Irene laid waste to the Alchemist Pub and the Canery opened for operation. These days I’m not seeking out HT that much given the incredible array of options...but there is still nothing that can compare to a Heady on draft at Hen of the Wood in Waterbury. At HotW, Heady’s flavor/bite and hop aroma seem amplified - like they did in 2011 when the simple pop of a 16 oz can unleashed that extreme and original hop assault of the senses. Is this really the same beer sold in cans?? The atmosphere/food and beer combo is quintessential VT....if you haven’t had the chance to experience it.....seek it out. Cheers BA.
Agreed and I've wondered why I loved it so much. I still love the cans, but every time I visit, Heady on tap there with dinner is always my favorite pour of the trip. I believe this is the only place Kimmich still allows to serve Heady on tap so maybe they know the perfect secret way to serve it on tap for best results...
