Got there just in time myself. Enigma will be gone today, grabbed an oude tart, and sipped on some deviant dales while shopping because the keg blew when filling my growler.
Wow. Hard to believe Enigma is going to be gone already. Idle curiosity, anyone know if they're receiving any more shipments? I have a four-pack, but might want to go back.
People were giving me crap for liking Enigma the last release. Now this time it is so popular I will not even get a 4-pack. WTF!? I think it is one of the best beers New Glarus has ever released. Maybe other people are finally coming to the same conclusion.
I think it's scarce in Hudson because of all of us pillaging Minnesotans. Get deeper into the state and I bet you'd find it plentiful.
There was plenty of enigma at spirit seller across the street from the nova today. Not a great selection at that store compared to the Nova but good prices on new glarus offerings
Good points. There are like 6 stores in Hudson that sell NG, and plenty further into western WI. Nova and Chicone's always sell out first. Also, kind of surprised that Tart of Darkness sold out so quick but Oude Tart hasn't. They must have gotten a lot more of it. Same price.
$22 is a good price. I picked up s bottle in LA for $20 and Zi had to haul it back to MN on the plain.
Stopped in Nova today. Grabbed some Enigma, store owner said they are almost out of it but expect to get more next week. Also was told that there will be no Belgian Red made this year due to the cherry harvest being less than anticipated. Oude Tart was still there as well.
According to this thread in the Great Lakes forum, it's going to be temporarily replaced by a new beer called Serendipity. From a post in that thread: "What will be replacing Belgian Red? Supposedly a beer called 'Serendipity' which will be brewed with cherry, cranberry, and apple and will come in the large format bottles." Rumors are that it'll be out sometime in October... I am definitely looking forward to that.
Can anyone recommend a place in or around Hudson that does cheese and beer/wine tastings, or a place with a nice Sunday brunch?
