I feel like posting something positive because today is a wonderful double whammy of 1) being Monday and 2) watching my retirement take a direct punch to the balls. As some of the best vacations come about, my partner and I had the relatively last minute opportunity to stay at a friend's place for a few nights in Catskill. Being the intrepid beer investigator I am, I found ways to schedule visits to places like Crossroads and Chatham Brewing as well as the Cask and Rasher amongst our weekend poking around. We even hit Keegan on the drive back down to North Jersey yesterday for dinner. A trip to those three NY breweries really sealed the deal for me: New York gets it right. We'd already been to Newburgh and Peeskill and thoroughly enjoyed our time there in previous trips. For those who may not know, in NJ breweries can't sell food on premise. There are different rules for brewpubs, and despite the 2012 legal changes things remain arcane and esoteric. The rules are different in NY and it's great to see such a thriving, local, independent beer scene. Looking forward to the next visit.
glad you liked the visit to our state...perhaps now would be a good time to buy beer related stocks i hear people drink like crazy when the shit hits the fan
