Surprised by how quiet the thread has been. Anyway Hudson Valley has an event at Blind Tiger in NYC tomorrow with 12 of their beers on draft. Unfortunately, looks like the weather will be shit tomorrow, so I'll probably skip out.

 

this thread gets hype when hype release becomes hype... without said hype this thread lies dormant... HYPE!

 

Eschaton is unreal. It's 8% and drinks like a super flavorful session IPA.

 

I'm not sure I've ever had an 8% DIPA that hid the booze as well as Eschaton.

 

Would there likely have been some teaser or announcement already if HV were to have a release this weekend?

 

The last two announcements were on Thursdays. So give it a day I guess? But i only looked at the last two Instagrams for releases. Maybe that's not the normal pattern.

 

There is usually a teaser for the Saturday releases (on the website they'll put up the new can artwork with no explanation or something like "release coming this weekend"). I'm guessing if there is a release this week, it'll be on Friday.

 

I agree with Psychgawsple...I think there is a higher chance for a Friday release than Saturday at this point.

With that said I think we'll find out either tonight or tomorrow.

Ultrasphere (6%, $20/4pk) - Sour IPA w/ raw wheat, malted oat, milk sugar, raspberries & vanilla beans, hopped w/ Citra, Simcoe, & Mosaic powder.

Hyperlight (7%, $18/4pk) - DDH IPA w/ raw wheat, malted oat, hopped with Citra and Mosaic powder.

220 cases of each. 4x4pk limits to start. Wristbands 3PM.

Annoying it's on a Fri..pretty much impossible for anyone to get there who doesn't live around there (at least that works a 9-5)

Friday releases are the worst.

 

Totally agree, and we love you out of area folks coming here Saturdays to enjoy the area's beer bounty (and spend your money and bring your out of area beer to trade), but it's good to know that HV do think about giving us locals a better shot occasionally. I usually don't go to their releases and just get pours, but I may go to this one, Ultrasphere in cans is a no-brainer, and I bet Hyperlight is killer too, considering Jason and Mike have really hit their stride lately.

 

Annoying that it's at 5 vice 3, or a Wednesday or Thursday!

 

So what time do you have to be there to get some cans for a Friday 5pm release? 3pm? Noon? Are people already camped out?
