I know it's a matter of semantics, but I hate when places say "plenty" or "a lot" left. Why not just give the case counts so everyone knows?

Does HVB still have cans left from today's release? They haven't posted an update in a while (5 hours) but they never mentioned selling out though .

Honestly still not sure if they've sold out...

No, a buddy went today and they were sold out. Crowlers left tho. I don’t think they’ve updated any social media which is kinda lame.

They basically update their instagram story on release day and that's about it. Probably the weakest aspect of their brewery game, at this point.

It doesn't help that instagram stories are probably the worst way to share this information, too.. They disappear in time and I don't believe you can put on notifications for them. Not sure why they don't just update the posts (or make new posts) like every other brewery out there.

Has anyone had issues with cans in the past?I just opened up my last can of Bloom and had to pour it out. Tasted like straight vinegar...

I haven't had any issues with cans other than a handful of fills that must have been a few drops over the low-fill threshold.. Cans as old as January have been tasting fine for me, but I haven't had a Bloom can in at least 3 weeks.

Yes, I have. Had what sounds like a similar issue with one can of Amorphia consumed a few months after release. It was extremely carbonated when I opened it and poured with a fizzy, rapidly dissipating head, huge bubbles like dish soap. Carbonation was extremely loose like seltzer, and the taste was overwhelmed by a vinegar-esque acetic acid flavor.

FWIW, I've had multiple cans from almost every release since last summer, and only once did I experience this issue--albeit a really bad one. I have heard of multiple reports of this happening with Bloom recently, so I wonder if some releases are more susceptible to whatever went wrong...

As far as I can tell there isn't a HVB thread which seems like a massive oversight. But alas, I just need some advice from anyone that has been to one of the Sat. releases. I'm going to be up near there for another event and will be driving down that way around noon. Not that I think I'll be walking away with cans but will they still have crowlers available? Will it still be a totally shit show at that time or will the lines have dissapated?

    Thanks for any helpful responses.

New blood breweries action is all on social media. The BA threads don’t get much love. Similar for Equilibrium

While we're on the topic of HVB does anyone think they will have an anniversary party either later in 2018 or early 2019? I know they just opened their tap room in Jan. 2017, but I was thinking about it recently and hadn't seen anyone ask the question.

I feel like there's been a drop off recently in chatter on BA for Equilibrium and HVB, where there used to be more commenting in the threads and such. I'm not sure what to chalk that up to.

Both hvb and eq have dedicated facebook groups that are both quite active. No reason to sign up for BA if you already have a fb account I guess.

The OH monthly thread gets to ~15 pages typically

The one off EQ thread has hit 30 pages over 18 months. The one off HVB thread has hit 15 pages over nearly two years

Maybe it's just that OH came to prominence right before Facebook groups took over - plus it was the sort of "savior" brewery for NYC. Whereas the other two are all about Facebook

Frankly, the assholes moved in, and I (assume others also) moved out of their threads here.

I figured that was a part of it. Sadly these IPA/sour machines, as good as the breweries themselves are, bring an obnoxious fanbase with them.

I did see a lot of stupid arguments in the EQ thread for sure.

    Pretty sure @cavedave meant BA-based non-fans

But I totally agree with your point.

I think most of the battles were between blinkered fans and BA reactionaries.*

*full disclosure I may have been guilty of stoking the flames

Yeah, that thread is full of posts on the state of their labels, the merits of a ticketed line system, and brisket jokes followed by general confusion over the state of their taproom and actual beer posts.
