Clearing looks excellent, hoping this turns out similar to Tired Hands Prayer Group... which I always thought would be excellent to have in crush-able cans

Both Threes and Tired Hands have released foudre fermented lagers before so not really that unusual. Conditioning for a year does seem a little over the top though, have to imagine there is diminishing returns.

Have been twice, decent beer, nice spot, though not exactly one that takes advantage of the incredible scenery that surrounds them. I suspect they will get better as time goes on, and will produce beer of quality that can stand with the other greats already producing high quality beer around here.

Prayer Group in bottles was almost saison-like to me with some funk and tartness. Different from when it’s on tap. Curious about Clearing but suspect it’ll sell out.

Yeah, I think it'd be great if it still has a dry finish but a year in oak does seem like a long time.

I've only had it in bottles, but yeah it tasted more like a unique grisette than anything else (despite the lager yeast).

“Decent beer” for a relatively new brewery ain’t so bad, considering what many other upstarts are putting out there + scenery might add to overall experience/mouthfeel

I was pleasantly surprised by the brewery when I was out there in April... super soild hoppy brews, most are quite soft without too much bitterness. Seemed on the level with something like the Threes or Greenpoint IPAs, in terms of quality.

Fine Line kolsch spent, I believe, 9 months lagering and that resulted in a beautiful beer. Not sure the time alone was the determining factor, but still.

Magnify did a series of lagers from an oak foudre, too. Some of them were very good.

My wife and I are headed up to H.V. in November. We are hitting Equilibrium and Clemson Bro's on Saturday, then headed to District 96 and Industrial Arts on Sunday. Is there anything close by or OTW we should hit in between (beer-wise or attractions) you would recommend?

The one I tried was the worst beer I’ve had in many, many years. Haha.

If you can carve out an hour or two, D.I.A. in Beacon is a phenomenal experience. Really stunning. Another option would be Storm King Art Center a little south of Newburgh.

Woo, ready for their own monthly thread, be sure to specify year and avoid confusion in said monthly thread!

This isn't specifically an HVB thread actually, haha. It's a spawn of a spawn I think.

I dunno, I think the OP makes it a HVB thread, though it certainly might have derailed.

Check out Rushing Duck in Chester. They're right off 87 on the way to Middletown. They opened a bigger taproom a few months ago that serves food. It's a great way to spend the afternoon.

Equilibrium doesn't currently have a taproom. They're in the process of building one with an ETA of fall 2018 for beer garden and winter 2018 for the taproom. Saturdays are can release days though so they might still be worth the trip.

Well, if we are derailing this thread for a more generalized discussion on the surrounding area(s): Anyone dive into the “Boss Collaboration Series?” BeetBoss w/ Kent Falls has already been out, and BarnBoss w/ Plan Bee is slated for the 29th
