This is the second can release. Same ingredients, but the photos this time around show that the beer is a deep ruby color, whereas the first can looked like a NE-style IPA with a tinge of pink.

I made a mental list of my favorite beers from last year and that was #1 on my list.

*edit: hop profile changed this time. Last year's was Mosaic and El Dorado, this one is Citra and Simcoe.

I went to yesterday's release which was a bit crazy but worth it. Drinking Mirrorshield now - holy crap. As someone said before, I am not sure what I am drinking but it is amazing.

    Suh homies.
Quick question - whats an average Saturday like at this spot? Have attended multiple can releases and obviously we know what thats like, but I was thinking about visiting for a couple crowlers and pours this weekend. Apologies in advance if this is a dumb question, but are there lines on non-release days? Is it anymore chill relative to a can release day? Limits on crowlers?

Thanks in advance - live around 2 hrs away so just trying to see what I am getting into.

Saturdays can be a wildcard. Beacon has a "second Saturday" that tends to bring more people into the City than other weekends and I've seen this spill over into HVB. You might wait 5 mins or so for a beer on a steady-busy Saturday - but nothing like a can release day. I usually don't bring home crowlers, but I believe the limit is 2 per style.

Last time I went to HVB on a random weekend, the crowler line was pretty long and actually went outside. The crowd dissipated once the crowlers were sold out. I don't know if that's typical. The weather is also starting to get colder, so that might also have an effect on the crowds.

WHY IS CRAFT BEER SO GOOD NOW?

For a well loved rerelease, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of hype for this on facebook. It seems the OH/EQ collabs might pull the crowds.

I'm not sure if they made a ton of beer or what, but I was able to show up at 5PM and was in and out with full allotment. I really was not expecting to be able to do that.

I’m in Milton NY until Weds. Unfortunately HVB is closed until thurs. Anyone know any bars/pubs close by that have it on tap or alternatively any other good breweries open those times? Preferably dog friendly. Thanks.

Draught Industries in Beacon usually has some HVB on tap. Check out their beermenus.

I'm local to where you are now, just west of Milton up on the ridge. Best tap list around here is at Underground Coffee and Ales in Highland. They have outdoor seating, so maybe dog friendly? Untapped has what they are pouring, which I just checked and there is no HVB, but some good stuff for sure.

Brewery at Bacchus in New Paltz is where the HVB boys started, and lately the "new" brewer has been doing excellent beer, definitely not dog friendly place.

Apologize if this is a well asked question but I don't have time to hunt it down...I'm going to passing by Beacon late Saturday afternoon / early evening and it looks like, according to beermenus.com that there are still some remaining cans from last weekend's release available - can anyone give me any idea if that might be the case then, and if there would be any type of a line - Saturday 5 - 6pm ish? Thanks and cheers!

For this Dec 29 release... what's a good time to get in line? Wrist bands at 8 but I'm assuming I need to get there before then

it's been rare they cut allotments especially for repeat releases. Think you'll be fine but follow their updates on IG on Saturday

Came back to this forum to see what's been going on with HVB since I haven't been there in awhile. People are seriously still lining up at 8am for beer in this day and age??
