Sierra Nevada Barrel Aged Narwhal. Love regular Narwhal, did not love BA Narwhal. They simply over did it. I prefer a more balanced BBA stout, such as KBS or BCBS. :sunglasses:

The Alchemist Heady Topper. A great beer, but not worthy of the hype associated with it. Everyone has different tastes. Heady did not suit mine. More for you I guess. :grimacing:

Stone Points Unknown IPA. I like Belgians. I like Tequila. I like IPAs. Unfortunately I didn't like Points Unknown. I still give Stone credit for trying new things, because every once in a while they hit a home run. I think Xocoveza took everyone by surprise :-)

I was really disappointed with the BBA Bigfoot. In fact, it was the focus of an entire thread I made. Haha. Way, way too hot and boozy. I love the regular Bigfoot, though.

Actually as I'm sure you know as a person of such status and electricity that may not be the case. While I realize that the people posting on message boards know way more about the taste of beer than anyone else I believe the actual creator and brewer of the Heady Topper beer has stated that the beer is optimal at about 1200 hours old. Not sure if he's right but I do think the hype machine for anything (except for kitkat's) is usually overblown or at the very least filled to the brim with a homemade Latte from the dregs of a Keurig new 2.0 machine. Screw you half eaten Apple. Crazy sauce.

I gave up chasing limited beer mainly because a good percentage were underwhelming, so the only beer lately that I can think of was Abraxas. A friend sent it as an extra and most of it went down the drain, even though a buddy was helping me drink the bottle.

Heady Topper. I've had it multiple times now and haven't been blown away. Definitely not something I would go out of my way for.

As @HorseheadsHopHead stated a beer that I was most disappointed in was.....Barrel Aged Big Foot. Malts + Hops = Good. Malts + Barrel Notes = Good. Malts + Hops + Barrel Notes + Booze = Not a good beer experience. I guess my Palate isn't ready for that Type of Masochistic Torture.

Hopslam. I mean, it's hoppy...maybe a hint of honey in there...but pretty much encompasses everything that annoys me about super-hopped beer culture.

Caffe americano was a HUGE letdown. KBS was also underwhelming

I am so glad you were brave enough to post this first! I completely agree. Don't get me wrong, it was really good...it just was not mind-blowing. Maybe it is partly my fault for setting too high of expectations based on all the hype.

All their beer is good. Another One is better on a hot day, more crisp and refreshing. MO is my favorite compared to competitors for the style. Its simply the best APA I've had, including Zombie, Congress Street and HF.

Funny, cuz I thought it was well worth the hype, and I DID cream my pants, multiple times in fact. I made sure I brought multiple changes of pants before my trip to Vermont.

But seriously, to each their own. Have any other DIPAs or IPA's you'd recommend?

Also, I will say there was one DIPA that I thought was better than Heady...Swish by Bissell Brothers. Well worth trading for fresh. What a heavenly beer that is. I'll even go as far as to say that it might be my favorite beer ever.

    Tired Hands.
Foliage was pretty amazing, so I tried to get a bunch more of their stuff, and everything I got after was just super thin, kinda "meh", and just a really faint, light version of whatever the style was. Traded a lot for the peach emptiness and was completely underwhelmed.

Also - mexican cake (cinnamon bomb), abraxas (raisin potpourri mess), prairie stouts (wet ashtray).
