Lunch and Peeper. I don't see what's so special about them.

If it delivered as promised, how could that possibly be a letdown? If that's your attitude, I urge you to avoid Green Flash KickInTheNuts.

So much depends on the day. I love KBS and disagree with everybody here, but its varied between world class and just good depending on the day I had it. I don't understand what everybody is saying about the regular founder's breakfast stout because I never heard that hyped. Its just basic.

But for my own personal disappointments: PsuedoSue, Zombie Dust, Pliny. I'd like to assume I just didn't try it early enough, and I'm happy to continue drinking them until I do find one that's fresh enough.

All of the Boulevard Brewing Imperial Stout "X" series, mediocre at best, and Daisy Cutter from Half Acre, don't get it.

Deschutes fresh squeezed IPA = average at best (granted wasn't expecting much going into it)

Schlafly Pumpkin Ale = Is something horrible

On the other hand I just had Unsessionable IPA by Revolution Brewing and it blew me away, almost a clone of Enjoy by

To me, a huge hypetrain has to preceed a beer for it to become a "huge disappointment". Beers like pliny (a disappointment to me on multiple occasions), heady topper (not yet once disappointed me), Tree House Julius (would actually categorize as a "huge disappointment"), kbs, bsbs (I loved them both), etc. As you get further down the line to the fresh squeezed or sculpin or any green flash (which I still think is pretty good), the hypetrain hasn't really had a chance to overly influence either way. I wasn't into sculpin or fresh squeezed but it wasn't because people were saying they were the best beer ever (julius) but I just wasn't impressed by them. In my mind, those types of beers aren't huge disappointments. So, to recap, west coast ipa is a huge disappointment compared to a new england ipa.

    carry on ba'ers!

One could say that beer is like music and it's all relative, but if you like Schlafly Pumpkin Ale you probably like Nickelback and we can't be friends.

I think TH beers are all good but man, people worship that place. I wish they would clear their beer, I can taste the yeast and it makes most of their beers finish with a slightly sour and minerally note. Abraxas is way too spicy for my but I love bomb. Haven't had any barreled bombs but have had others barreled and the barrel flavor really overwhelms the beer.

If you liked the blitzkreig, have you had shape of hops to come? Also they will be packaging their good problem to have which is ridiculous.

I live in PA and we're lucky to get younger and elder in kegs and about 6 of their bottles. Their beer is ridiculously well made. I can understand why most things on this thread have underwhelmed people though, especially if they had these beers recently. So much hype and also many other brewers have caught up to these sought after beers. Some beers probably have fallen off but probably people's pallets have evolved as well and what once was earth shattering becomes "meh." but I guess that just the nature of the beast.

Darklord was a huge disappointment. Drank a '13 at a tasting and everyone said it was way too sweet.

Pumking was disappointing to me. I love pumpkin beers. And this was supposed to be my mecca. But...was perfume.

Also union jack ipa tasted like flat overly sweet mango juice to me. Which would taste good by itself but with that malt/yeast i was very much sad.

Good to know. I have a '15 and was going to get rid of it but maybe I'll give it another shot.

I bought an Eclispe last year at a bar..I believe it was Evan Williams version? Anyhow, it was watery and not worth anything near the $40 price I paid. I just bought it so I can say I had it once.Unless you have plenty of cash, save yourself the money.
