Alright, I'll say it. Mornin Delight. Bring on the hate. As a side note, assassin is the best beer I've ever tried. So, not a bash on tgb stouts in the least.

Jai Alai from Cigar City. I had been seeking it for quite some time. Found it about 2 weeks ago and....I don't know...It just didn't do it for me. I mean its described as citrusy, tropical, bitter...all the things I love best in an IPA, but I was really disappointed. It wasn't 6 months old and a malt bomb or anything, so I don't know....am I crazy?

Well.....never be disappointed by beer. Beer no matter how who what where , in reality, is just beer. I don't care if it's some rare style brewed by who ever. It's just beer. Took me a awhile to comprehend this, but it's true. I now drink beers with this in mind.

I will say Hopslam. I got an advance email from one of the local HyVee W&S shops stating that they had a limited quantity of this. I picked up a six-pack without first checking the price (they kept it under the counter) and damn near had a heart attack when I went to check out. I bought it anyway. Not bad, but not worth $20.99/6.

I don't know whether I picked up some bad bottles or what, but Samuel Smith's Nut Brown Ale just tastes nothing like what others have raved to me about. Nothing about it (at least based on the 4-pack I bought) was pleasant or drinkable and delightful for me. I've abstained from rating it at the moment, but if I were to rate it right now my rDev for it would be like -50%.

You have to watch for age on the sammy smith stuff, sometimes it sits around and gets stale

Saw the add for Boom Sauce for months and months before the beer was even released. People talked about it like its a great beer. Tried it recently and it is one of the worst hoppy beers I've had in a can, and I've tried more than I can keep track of.

Pliny the Elder hands down...don't get me wrong, it's still a fantastic IPA, but coming from the South, the hype built around this inaccessible beer made it sound like it was the greatest hopped beer ever made and will be made. Sadly, drinking it for the first time at Falling Rock on my first day at work, I couldn't help but think how many better IPAs I've already have.

Because Pliny has been around since before 99% of what you're referring to was even conceived of.
