SN Narwhal. I bought a case because it was on sale and I had heard many good things about it. It took a long time including the couple of four packs i gifted to people to get rid of it. It was in my opinion over hopped and tasted off

Pliny was a let down for me. It's a great beer and I definitely "get it" but, at the end of the day, I just don't love West Coast IPAs. I waited a long time to try it and I pretty much knew what to expect. Still, I was hoping to be wowed but I wasn't. That said, it's still the class of the West Coast compared to Enjoy By, Duet, Nelson and others.

Fair question. I suppose it's fear of missing out.

I've had Duet in the bottle twice and Hoppy Birthday on tap... It's not Green Flash that's screwing it up, it's your memories that it was once something great

Still holding out hope for Nelson.

They make good beer, wouldn't say they're all excellent but the hype surrounding them is crazy. I've never had anything from them that blew me away. What did you have that was earth shattering and why?

Hopslam is terribly overhyped, severely disappointed

KBS - good beer, gave it a 4.5 but I have about 10+ other stouts rated higher including the much more cost efficient and readily accessible FBS.

Disappointed by Hill Farmstead.. You've got some high standards, my friend.

Let me guess, Side Project makes shitty sours?

Abner, Beyond Good and Evil, Birth of Tragedy, Port Damon, BA Everett, Madness and Civ #1. All mind-blowing.

Sculpin don't see what all the fuss is about this beer can get better cheaper. And BCBS had to trade for it as it does not make it out to where I live. Think I had better barrel stouts out here that are easier to obtain.

That's a fair point and probably poor wording on my part. I did enjoy UJ and Tweak. I'll have to go back and look at my rating for Rumpkin as I don't remember liking that one too well. Overall, I think I have just expected a lot of them to be better based on reviews and friends telling me their opinions. None were awful, just dissapointments.

The bottles (and still even some kegs) are produced at Alpine

What exactly was the difference in the nose between the bottled and draft versions?

    Cheers!

Not quite right; all bottles (at this point) are still produced at Alpine itself.

As your fellow CT BA @Roguer will confirm, so much about Pliny's awesomeness has to do with freshness. People joke about it, but even four week Pliny is significantly "worse" (still awesome) than one- or two-week old. Once you've had it ultra-fresh, you might change your mind.

There is a difference between Alpine bottle of Nelson and Green Flash bottles of Nelson? Funny because Green Flash doesnt bottle Alpine beers.

Fantome was a huge disappointment. Smoky band aids are not nice funky notes. 16 bucks a bottle not worth the risk

Had Nelson and Duet from the bottle. Both were pretty disappointing.

I'll be in the minority's here but FW sucaba 2014. It was just so sweet and boozy, felt like I was drinking overly sweet and carmely bourbon. Appearntly a style I just don't understand. FWIW I have enjoyed most BA stouts I have had, but for me personally I find barrel aged beers to become a chore to finish after 8 ounces or so...
