Why let facts get in the way of a hate fest? :flushed:

Edit - It will also be hilarious if someome tries to debate you on this.

The nose on the bottle was a lot more present while it was muted from draft. Both were fantastic on palate.

Hop Stoopid. Gets great praise, but I don't see it.

Add Sucks to that. I don't get it. Best from them is their Pils and regular IPA.

    Thanks for that input.

I recently had Duet on draft and to my utter surprise that beer had zero aroma. I was shocked by this aspect. The beer tasted good but for it to have zero aroma was disappointing for me.

    Cheers!

Ouch!! That was selling for 20 something a bottle around here. I couldn't justify it. Hope the time helps.

Xocoveza. I opened my bottle at DLD, and I thought it tasted like soap. It got a little better as it warmed up, but those first few sips... yuck. Other people I shared it with thought it was OK, so maybe it's just me. I guess I'm not a huge fan of cinnamon and chiles in my beer.

Also gotta agree about Uncle Jacob's. I loved Tweak and was really looking forward to UJ. I opened one bottle immediately, and it was a hot, sticky mess. Hoping the second bottle will be more enjoyable after a few months or a year in the cellar.

Every barrel-aged beer I've ever tried from Deshutes has been a major letdown! The blends they conjure include WAY too much "fresh" ale and not nearly enough barrel-aged liquid. Also, their "Best After" dating is a crock- I'm not buying an expensive bottle of beer that's not supposed to be drank for a year. Why would a brewery put out a beer that's not yet ready to be consumed? (YOU hang onto that sh!t til it's ready, Deshutes! Makes you look bad.)

Don't get me wrong, I do have dozens of bottles cellaring in my basement, but all of them were "ready" to drink when they were released for distro.

I hope (Wish) you all had Alpine before the switch.. it has deteriorated in quality since the buy out of muscle out.. Nelson use to be one of my favorite beers (top 5) now I don't even put it in top 10.. Green Flash is by no means a bad brewery ALPINE has just changed since the takeover

Agree. Everyone wants their own more easily accessible Heady. Stepped up homebrew with the right hop combo seems to fool quite a few people.

JW Lees. I gave up after the third try. They always taste like boiled green bean skins. So weird.

That's an almost exact quote I've used in describing them. Getting your hands on the hops du jour doesn't make an IPA great. It makes it drinkable and the first few sips seem fine since the nose dominates, but then the imperfections show up. I feel like too many people fall in love with the nose of an IPA and overlook/forgive the off flavors.

I'm not judging your tastes, if you enjoy Heady...that's Cool! Yet, I've tried it and its not for me.

Lags Pils is the best pilsner I've ever had.
But I do like Sucks. Not great but very good.

I do like Heady, but don't agree that it should be #1 on BA's list.
There are many other beers I'd rather have. But to each
    his/her own.

I enjoy too many beers too much to allow the occasional "miss" to disappoint me. There's always another beer around the corner that I can't wait to try.

I had one that was pretty fresh and had the same experience, but opened a bottle with about 3-4 months of age on it and it was much more coffee forward.
