I'm fairly new to this, and still having trouble figuring out what's a solid trade for what. I would love to pick up some Huna and some BCBVS. I have a small "cellar". Includes some the the following:

    Eclipse variants
    Firestone 16
    Sucaba
    DDBA
    BA Bigfoot
    BCBS '11
    Westy 12

Is it possible to make it happen with these, or do I need to get more "horsepower". I just don't want to throw something out there that isn't realistic.

    Thanks!

Probably more on your end. Everything you listed is available without giving up a Hunahpu, let alone a Vanilla.

I figured that...just not sure what. I have some more stuff on the way...just not sure what to offer as a reasonable trade

Do you ever drive up to Vermont? If so, next time you do, load up on Hill Farmstead and then trade away...

Check out seekabrew.com it shows you which brewers distro to what US states. Find breweries that are exclusive to your state or region, track down their limited brews that you can acquire. Offer those up for trade. You may find a BA who has extra Hunan or BCBVS that likes your state's beer they can't get. Just an idea I had to get into trading. I live in Mass, Jack's Abby is a Mass only distro. They are making great stuff that you can only get in Mass. I figured they have way more value to BAs outside of New England and east coast.

huna could be doable from a semi-generous trader. hell, if i had an extra huna i'd trade it for a 2011 bcbs 4 pack without a second thought (and i'm in chicago). bcbvs...well, unfortunately you probably won't be able to land it with those.

Huna should be fairly easy to get. I did a 1:1 for a BCBCS, I did a 1:2 for Behemoth and BA Pt5 (I think he was generous) and I did a Huna plus some CCB shelves for a KBS, Black Note, BB4D, BCBS and a Kuhnhenn Braggot (also generous).

Honestly, I was only looking for $4$ and stuff I hadnt had. so you just have to be aptient and wait for the right trader.

This. I sent my last BCBVS for HF "shelf" beers as part of a larger trade to a very generous Vermont trader (Vermontoise and a growler of Society & Solitude #6 were the only limited beers involved, neither of which could be put in the same .rar categories as Damon, Juicy, Ann, etc.). Makes me wish I had a case of vanilla left for more of the same.

I think you might get some bites on Huna if you offer one of those bombers plus the westy 12 or plus 2x bcbs '11. Over $4$ but probably worth it if you really want the huna (which you should).

Huna is not impossible - it was made in huge quantities this year. If you went over $4$ with that list, you could possibly score it. Otherwise, that list is kind of the tier directly under Huna in terms of what beers typically trade for. It's worth putting up an ISO, because you never know what somebody sitting on a case of Huna might be looking for.

As for Vanilla... it's becoming an incredibly tough get, and you're not going to land it with anything you could have bought off a shelf in the last year. Your best bet is to hit a couple of limited releases and hope for the best.

Thanks for the help. This is why I love BA! I really appreciate the advice.

I offered up Fou Foune + other Cantillon kickers and nobody bit. Still searching for Vanilla. Might just infuse a regular BCBS with Vanilla Beans and pretend....

OP, I would think Huna should be doable with Westvleteren+, lots available this year and many people got much more Huna than the bottle limits. If I was going to offer up I would go FT Westvleteren + 2 BCBS, which is more than $4$ and likely to succeed, and there are still BCBS on shelf here for "reasonable", so no loss from cellar.
