Toppling Goliath just tweeted that they're 97% sure they'll be there.

Pegs closed when I was down in Tampa for Christmas...I think it was around the 19th or 20th of Dec....it's really going to make BA Day tough to pull off this year unless they hold it off site because Cycle is not big enough to handle it IMO

Not sure how anyone could have "missed out" on tickets since they were available for over 18 hours (compared to last year's instant sell out)

So if you did not get tickets on Monday, then you cannot attend?

I was there last year on Friday for the Friday bottle release and it was pretty packed for an hour or so but it quickly dissipated (as the BA kegs kicked). But that also doesn't include all the people who were at Peg's for the ticketed event. Cycle would probably be less packed if they poured at Huna day. Have ever done so in the past? Does anyone know a reason why they didn't/wouldn't? From a business perspective, if not pour at Huna day increases the traffic there that week, then it may just be a sound business decision. Not trying to start any rumors, just genuinely curious.

Correct. However, all the breweries will be having events all week.

No one can add you as the second name, if you pay them or is that not how this works.

This is correct Huna Day is sold out

There is no beef between cycle and ccb, Huna day is the last day of Tampa bay beer week. Cycle does a huge amount of business that week, along with their releases. So they go through all their BA stuff during the week, while coordinating all of their stuff, so Huna day is just a tough thing for them to be involved in at the end. It's just a good business decision. CCB and Cycle did the broken bench collab this past year, so I doubt there are any issues. I've also heard that Doug gets his Barrels through CCB connections so this is just business.

Thanks for the clarification. I edited my post above and removed the speculation about "the beef" just so nobody gets any foolish ideas.

CCB said there were errors with the 2nd ticket and will work on getting names on there. If you can find someone to sell you their second ticket you may be able to get them to put your name on it. However, it will likely be mailed to the purchaser.

Slight correction....Hunah Day is not the last day or event of TBBW.....7th Sun on Sunday has Hunahpu Hangover Day which is actually one of the best events of TBBW...there are a few other events around town as well that day but 7th Sun is definitely the one to hit if your still needing more beer after HD

Cigar City is extremely helpful to local breweries including Cycle. There is absolutely no beef there. They help the local breweries as much as possible and even buy product in bulk at lesser prices and sell to local breweries at their cost. Redner has been nothing but giving and helpful to the local beer scene.

See the first bottle release from Angry Chair. CCB had a hand in it. CCB also helped Coppertail with their Sabotage beer. Both are really good beers!

By having their event the day prior to Huna Day, Cycle can get more people that are in from out of town to visit their brewery. The more patrons from out of town that get to try their beer, the easier it is to expand distribution. They also creat the opportunity to have more patrons at the brewery overall. Competing with CCB on Huna Day would be a poor decision, in my opinion.

Cycle has publicly stated that they are not looking to expand distribution. I know the don't sell any packaged beer outside the brewery. I have seen kegs here and there around town, but I think those are one offs. they are very happy selling all the beer they can make for cash.

Even if they don't want to expand distribution, it would be dumb to compete with CCB on that day. Have the event on Friday and get more business because of it.

I wasn't saying that they should hold a competing event on the same day. I was wondering why they, unlike many other local breweries, did not participate at Huna day by pouring at the festival?
