Hunahpu Day 2016

Last year I brought a cooler backpack with a couple of freezer packs in there with 6 waters and a big awesome sandwich my wife made. Allowed us to skip the long food line and stay hydrated all day. Highly recommend.

 

Rare Kegs have been at other festivals since Rare Day at the barrel warehouse - so there is no reason why Goose couldn't bring Rare...

 

So they should call it "Bourbon County Not So Rare."

I've stayed there once a year for the past 4 or 5 years and it's a great location. It's right next to 7th ave and the last trolley stop on 8th so you're guaranteed a ride to Hunahpu's Day. These places also make for a great location for bottle shares too since they have nice front porches, full kitchens and back yards (some scrappier than others).

I recommend Casa Bella if you have a group of 6 or more. I'm staying there next week for 3 nights, total cost 800 or so dollars (8 people, it's less than 40 a night per person). It has 4 queen size beds and two full baths. I've also stayed at the palm and the cigar so if you have a smaller group, I recommend that. I have not stayed at any of their other properties but i'm sure they're just as nice.

Just announced that Cycle will be joining Huna Day this year! That is a very good announcement!!

 

I may have missed this but does anyone know how many total tickets they sold for Huna Day? I think last year the total was 3500....is it that same this year or more?

 

Last year it was 2000, this year it's 3500

Doesn't it rain there for like 20 minutes every day? And then the blistering sun makes it appear so that it never rained at all a mere 20 minutes later?

 

Unless it's summer then it rains 20 mins every hour lol. I pray it snows one day there

 

It did. 1977. 1/4" in Tampa. Had to shut down the interstates. I was a truck driver, and the boss wouldn't let us out on the streets with our rigs. Had a snowball fight in the parking lot.

 

Just figured out I'll be visiting Florida the week before the festival and leaving on the 11th... Any chance it would be on tap at the brewery the week before or is the first tapping on hunahpu day?

 

Probably will not see it before hunaday unless they have it on tap at say the airport the week of hunaday.

There is a chance you may see it an event that week. Lots of events going on through out the week for Tampa Bay Beer Week. The weekend before is the Florida Brewers Guild Festival which is a pretty good festival with all the local breweries.
