Thanks, I just wasn't sure and I forgot about the Cuban Coffee!
I didn't know that. I thought that's what they meant when they said bring brews to share. Only after 11 then when the event officially opens?

I will be coming down from new york and would love to get in on a tasting. I will have some uber fresh heady topper, and can bring some hill farmstead as well. BM if you have a tasting going on and would be interested in extending an invite. Check out my gots, And, I can bring anything from the northeast that I can get my hands on ATM. Might be a weird place to ask, but I made reservations for Pegs on the 10th, does anybody know of an easy way to get there from CCB as I won't be able to drive???

I wasn't really planning on drinking before 11 anyway but good thing someone clarified that. I had assumed the same thing.

If this is CCB's official stand they should post something on their Hunahpu website, I asked the same question a week ago and was told we could and that they were drinking in line at the BA Hunahpu release.

It's the city's stance on public drinking in line. Last year there was a cop parked across the street from the entrance to the fenced in property. So it's probably best to wait until you get inside.

I figured the cop was there last year because the area wasn't properly wet zoned. The description on CCB's website makes it sound like that's been remedied. I think someone from CCB needs to clarify before the 10th.

6am is pretty early. You would've probably been in the first ten or so last year. For reference, I showed up around 9am and was about 50th. I'm hoping people don't get there too crazy early this year.

    Awesome thanks.

I emailed CCB for clarification. Will let everyone know their response.

Well they responded, in less than 30 minutes. CCB's customer service is AWESOME by the way. I emailed them once before.

    Here was the response:
"The issue with drinking in line is that it is against the law. There is no wet zoning on the sidewalk. So if you were to open a beer and drink it there you could be subject to arrest and/or a fine. That said it is ok to bring beer on to the grounds to share. We just don't open the grounds till 11 AM. p.s. it is also okay to bring coolers and foldable chairs if you want to."

Peg's is in Gulf Port, across the bay and south of St Pete, about 24 miles. Best to go to Peg's the day or night prior when they have their official BA tappings.

I am coming in from Chicago for a biz meeting in Clearwater on Friday. Then plan to hit tampay brewing co. friday afternoon and then hopefully meet people at Pegs. Then line up at CCB on Saturday!

Couple of questions, any bottle shops I should check out? Any other places I should check out? Specially for brunch on Sunday.

And...anyone up for some chicago beer trading? Three Floyds, Half Acre, Goose Island.

    I'll be bringing to share:
    -3floyds Baller Stout
    -Half Acre Double Daisy Cutter
    -Avery/Russian River Colaborate
    -Finch Brewing Secret Stash Stout

Looking forward to this and hope to meet some cool people out there!

Those of you guys coming up on Friday should check out... http://tampabaybrewbus.com/ You can get a ride to Peg's and then take a cab from the brewery back to where you're staying. Me and a buddy are taking it and will bring some bottles out to Peg's on the 9th. I will look and see what I am bringing and will post it later. No beers in line sucks though, but what can you do.

For all of you guys that did not go to the release last year, instead of worrying too much about what beers you are going to bring, make sure you grab some sunscreen to bring. Unless you were one of the lucky few that got seats inside the tasting room, (which I am told will not be there this year) you ended up with some nasty sunburn last year.

If anyone is interested in in person trading at the event, especially anyone with Bourbon Big Sound, Roosevelt, Church on a Hill, or any of the Dos Costa Oeste varieties that are up for trade let me know. Also would be interested in King Henry, Bourbon County Bramble, Bourbon County Vanilla, or '11 Bourbon County bottles as well. If you have something else you may think will interest me, I will always listen. Here is a link to my cellar for conversation purposes.

I know that the Hunahpu bottles are $20 each and they encourage you to pay cash. Question is how do the draft sales on-site work? Cash also per beer? Or, Is it like a beer fest where you pay one price for unlimited samples?

As the link posted above mentions, the tasting room will be taking CC. However, if it is like last year, to get beers outside (where I think all non-CCB beers were), they used tickets. You had to purchase the tickets from a couple of particular places and then traded that for pours of beer. I assume this was to avoid counting out change at each location with beer to keep the lines moving. I would be surprised if they changed that setup since it worked pretty well. Unfortunately, I can not recall if they took plastic at the ticket spots or not, and I would be hesitant to say that even if they took it last year that they would again.
