Pretty sure they said there would be pre-filled growlers before hand last year. We just did not know what all they would be. The no growlers from last year notice was no growlers filled in the tap room if memory serves.

Seeing as how he works there, I would think he would know. Just saying...

I figured that out Actually it will probably make things run smoother since there won't be a rush to wait in line to pay.

 

I was actually disappointed that there were no growlers this year but not for the same reason as others. I wanted it to distract most of the people so I could go raid the taps while they were all waiting in line.

 

I missed out on Maple Bacon Coffee Porter because I was waiting in line last year...

 

If I recall correctly, the Zhukov growlers were planned and announced well ahead of time.

 

people are going to miss out on some things. but it's either that or everyone descends on one place at a time. it can be chaotic.

 

If anyone has a couple of 2011 Bourbon Big Sounds and would like to trade them for a 2011 Black Tuesday at the release, let me know. If you only have one and are open to trading for something else, let me know.

 

I hope this beer is worth it (never had one). Bringing three friends that really aren't into the beer thing. Still though, the whole event just sounds like it will be an awesome time to get together with friends and others that do enjoy good beer. And I can always drink the hell out of the Maduro, Jose Marti, White Oak Jai Alai... :-)

 

the bottle release has always been secondary to me on Hunahpu's Day. the amazing beers and everyone being in the same place at the same time is what's so great about it

 

Stopped by the brewery last night. 2,800 wristbands to hand out. I won't be there early. Plus no bottle sharing in line.

2800 sounds like a HUGE amount... that would mean 8400 bottles of Hunahpu this year.

 

They just posted a pic on facebook of what looks like to be most of the Three Floyd's taps they'll have. I can see Dreadnaught, Alpha King, Dark Lord, Zombie Dust and one I can't make out. Plus there seem to be a Lost Abbey label and a 7th Sun tap also.

 

Where are you seeing the 7th Sun tap? Is that the cut off one at the top? I see all the others you mention, another FFF that is cut off, and a Foothill's.

 

You're right, I thought the yellow one was 7th Sun but it is definitely Foothill's. Sexual Chocolate hopefully? Also, it looks like the blurry one on the mid-right of the photo could be Robert the Bruce.

I don't mind this. I'm very much looking forward to the atmosphere and different treatments and unique beers I get to try. Hopefully I can pick up a few more after 7:30, but I think they're right and it is going to be jam-packed.
