Not that they're the "best" ones, but Total Wine and Whole Foods down there are both pretty close to one another and usually have some good selections.
Ahhh visiting? Well if you're mobile, it would help to know what you're hunting for. Maybe we could provide some better tips?
Hi-Time isn't what it used to be, but definitely still worth a look as you're only about 5 miles away.
Nothing special, I am in the Sacramento area and we get quite a bit from the south. I hit Bottle Logic and Noble on the way down. Probably have dinner at Beachwood tonight. Just looking for a decent selection of more local, open to suggestions of hidden gems.
You may want to hit Stearns in Long Beach, as they hide less stuff in the back like Hi-Time. Checking Instagram first for shops could help too. AFAIK, most shops get deliveries Weds-Thurs, so "day of" releases might be a bit more challenging. Worth stopping at Total Wine HB, at least to browse. If you do get up to the Bruery, Mr Ks is always worth visiting. Whole Foods are generally worth checking out too, but can vary a bit, and some do the "hide in the back" thing too.
Long Beach BW has a San Diego tap takeover later today, while tomorrow Noble is taking over the Seal Beach BW.
