I've recently been pretty into these little gems, and they've got me wondering about their potential use in beer- so sweet and pineapple-y with just a little savoriness. I know they're not exactly a fruit bowl staple, but there are some pretty unconventional brewers out there, so does anyone know of any beers brewed with them? If so, how was it? How did the fruit come through?

Is that the same as a tomatillo?

No, ground cherries. Similar to a tomatillo but sweeter and fruitier. Theyre like little berries.

I made a mead with them once that was pretty bad. I think they might be nice in a lambic though if it was done right. Future Zwanze??
