    People regretted that earlier on they didn't give up 1/2 their cellar then to trade for a beer that they haven't had from a reputable brewery only to now unable to get it even for 2/3 of their cellar. How many people wished they added a little more to offer to land that DBH, BA Abraxas, or Chez then vs. now? That factor combined with TG reputation for BA stouts formed a perfect storm for the "hype" as it is the case for new beers from other reputable breweries as well. This is the nature of trading, no amount of complaint is going to stop that. Do your part and don't participate in the frenzy...it's that simple for me anyway.

    well, generally speaking, fresh is how the brewer intends it to be consumed.

    I don't disagree, but for the most part, unless it's an adjunct stout (vanilla / coffee / spice) or an APA/IPA (especially anything dry hopped), a few months are not that big of a deal. Sure, a 5.5% oatmeal stout probably won't hold up too well after 12+ months, but those aren't the types of beer I have tucked away, so I am not worried.
