I find it humorous that the ad on this thread is for amazon prime pantry. Shop now!

Prime pantry doesn't even service my area. Anyway, living in Texas, ordering alcohol online and having it shipped to your door is only available in certain counties. At least to my knowledge.

As long as Amazon doesn't try to stifle the craft beer industry in any way, I'm okay with them owning breweries. I really doubt that a brewery that is owned by them would sell their beer exclusively via Amazon because distro to the local market is cheaper the 'old fashioned way'. I think Amazon only would give a wider geographic market spread for a small/medium brewery's beers.

I don't see it happening, unions and all have deep long roots in this game and won't be allowing it to go to Amazon.

I'm too picky as well...which is the primary reason I already brew my own beer, and have done so since 1971.

Probably not. I'd worry about shipping leaving things intact (and you know that shit wouldn't be free because of the extra precautions and padding necessary, plus the higher likelihood of spillage ruining other shipped items) and also, I like my local beers enough that I'm not interested in buying much else online. ....and I don't see any of the great and in demand local brewers selling it out of state, since they don't have the stock to do so.

One major item is FRESH? If you went with Amazon you would not get to check dates and are basically getting what your get. I would not be open to that at all.

Who doesn't love efficient economies of scale? My experience with Amazon Basics and their other self-branded products have been unequivocally excellent. If they could branch out into beer and guarantee that their product was consistent, high quality, fresh, and reasonably priced, I would absolutely buy it. That might not satisfy the "I hate X company because more than Y people own shares and they produce more than Z barrels per year" crowd, but they're such an evanescent minority that their views are more or less irrelevant to a potential entrant.

    Sarcasm Alert:

The beer would be described as "Designed and Implemented in the USA". When the beer arrives, a little sticker on the bottom will say "brewed in China". When you go to review the beer, and point this out.. the reviews will not be published and you will then buy no more.

    The Sarcasm Alert has ended.

I’m sure I’m not the first person....but I highly encourage you to homebrew. Fun, educational, rewarding....and you can make exactly what you like.

I’ve been doing it for over 10 years...it’s actually what got me into craft.
