I have found my Pliny Killer

pliny is good, but blind pig is way better. hell hop shortage and simtra are better then all of that. in San Diego, Societe's The Pupil even schools pliny.

 

Have had it many times at the Pittsburgh Fat Heads. It has consistently impressed me as the best single IPA out there.

 

Pliny is sessionable as hell, I just think there are tastier/better beers. Doesn't mean it's not awesome.

 

Back in pre-Irene times, the brewpub produced many an excellent dark and wondrous brew

 

The Higher you spike your hair and the Jersier Shore you get, the better the hops taste... HH is AWESOME. But No Pliny it is IMHO. Not that I'm right or you're right...

Had Heady Topper today, got 6 Oracle in a box from bradfordjohnson (Thanks giving indeed) AND I'm spending a week in Pittsburgh in December where I tried flower power last year... and also where Fatheads is... they were out of 4 packs and draft the night I went last year. I still have not had head hunter! I wont leave until Ive had it this year.

This thread makes me thirsty.

I keep looking for the X beer is better than Heady, Nelson, Columbus, or HH thread. All I can find is everyone comparing their favorite hoppy beer to Pliny. Wonder why that is?

I am just glad so many folks are making world class IPA/DIPAs.

White rajah is my favorite single ipa by a mile, especially when I'm sitting half a mile from the brewery at this moment. Head hunter is good, but being slightly more bitter doesn't make it better IMO. To each his own!

 

Never had either one, but I'm not too worried as I have fairly easy access to Hop Stoopid, Dreadnaught, Artic Panzer Wolf, DuganA, Deviant Dale's, etc.

 

If you have Dreadnaught then your doing just fine.

 

wow. true testament to the statement "to each their own". I am lucky enough to have weekly access to HT and have thus set the bar with it as my standard and am still seeking anything to beat it. but just seeing "deviant dales" in similar conversation still makes me cringe. again to each their own but holy shit that stuff makes me want to
vomit. immediately drain pour. get a hold of an HT and revisit this thread . please.

 

I haven't found 2 I like more. Kern River Citra and Hopslam are damn close though.

 

heady is in its own galaxy and isn't currently touched .
Gandhi bot, zombie dust, flower power, and Pliny are the only space ships orbiting nearby.
that's what I think and I'm sticking to it.

Yeah, but that reason is that it's easier to get than Zombie Dust.
