I keep meaning to try [insert beer here], but always get sidetracked by something that seems harder to come by, more exotic, what I'm more in the mood for, etc.

For me, it's North Coast's Old Rasputin. I see it everywhere and for some reason never pull the trigger on it. Not sure as to why because I love RIS and I've heard/read nothing but wonderful, wonderful things about OR. Weird.

    Others?

Rochefort 6,8, and 10.. I know I know.. It's the price point that gets me, especially for 10. Plus I keep getting sidetracked with the stouts of the world.. especially this time of year.

RR Sours. I see a couple every time but never pull the trigger because of price.

Ola Dubh 30. Or whatever the hell highest number they have. Spent a fortune on 12 and 16. Don't feel like spending more on this one.

Most of the Evil Twin beers. I see them. I've heard they are good, but they are just too expensive for me to pull the trigger on.

This is going to sound really odd, but Rolling Rock. I want to taste for myself the DMS in it...for science!

Not sure it counts if you can't scrounge it up. Because by that measure, I'd have to add Westbrook's Mexican Cake, Terrapin's Wake and Bake, anything by Jestser King and about a dozen others.

Agreed on Evil Twin. I've had the Biscotti Break, but I'm not sure I'd get it again at $14.99 per bomber.

I passed on Modus Hoperandi and Euphoria several times. I finally picked up a six of each. I'm glad I did. I've been passing on Aria by Perennial too. I still haven't tried that one. It sounds like something I would like. It will make a great spring beer.

Dude, I can't speak for those others, but Perennial's Aria is outstanding. Amazing spring beer indeed, and a good summer-back-deck-beer too. Never had a bad bottle.

I keep meaning to try Stone Smoked Porter with Vanilla Bean. It's been in my fridge for three months but for some reason I don't want to open it as A) the little Stone we get here is uber-expensive and buying it was an indulgence, and B) I'm worried I'll be disappointed.

But Super Bowl Sunday's coming up...

Man, that's another one I always stop just short of picking up. I guess I'm worried its low ABV (especially for a smoked porter) is going to translate into a weak-bodied, thin mouth-feeled mess. Maybe that's just me though...

    Also, on the other hand:

I promise I'm not going to buy another bottle of [insert beer name here] because I've had it so many times before, but I can't stop myself.

For me: Ballast Point's Victory at Sea. Can't get enough of this thing. Want all the bottles of this thing. All the time. Also: Boulevard's Tank 7.

    Almost everything from The Bruery.

Like others above for other breweries, I just can't justify the price. (I like to find them on tap when I can, so I'm not completely missing out)

Splurged on a few The Bruery beers recently. Sevens Swans was totally worth it. Mischief was just alright and Saison Rue could stand to age a bit, at least to my palette.

I have some super-attainable beers in the Beers of Fame Top 100 that I could easily grab that I have not had yet, but always pass up:

    Ayinger Celebrator Doppelbock
    Unibroue La Fin Du Monde
Schneider Weisse Tap 6 Unser Aventinus
    Schneider Aventinus Weizen-Eisbock
    Trappistes Rochefort 8
    AleSmith IPA
    Gulden Draak
    Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier Dunkel
    Great Divide Old Ruffian

I need to get on that, and then work on what's left in 101-250.
