I'm new to cellaring (and relatively new to craft beer) and was wondering if anyone from this area had some good recommendations for great beers to cellar that are specifically available in my area (las Vegas)

    Thanks and cheers!

Is there any way you can change the title to "Cellaring in warm temps"? You would get a lot more looks.

Or even just search cellaring and you should get plenty of threads with good tips.

No clue what is available in vegas, but Rochefort 10, Samichlaus, NC Old Stock, Chimay Grand Reserve are all good cellar beers and fairly accessible. If you can get Cantillon or Drie Fonteinen - gueuze is great for cellaring. Look at high above beers, but a few and experiment. Also, Patrick Dawson's Vintage Beer is a quick and informative read. Cheers.

Bruery Sours should age well. You also get a bunch of European sours that should age well. Imperial Stouts...Joseph James BA Imperial Stout should be good. It's a pretty mellow stout already though. Sours, Imperial Stouts, barleywines, higher ABV stuff. You also get Almanac now, they hold up very well.

People don't live on the forums. Give it more than four hours before getting irritated that no one has answered you. It's the weekend, we're outside enjoying the days off.

Why do you want to cellar beers? What are your goals? If you're just buying beers to store away because you've heard it's the cool thing to do, you're doing it wrong. Read up on here and numerous other sites about the actual benefits of cellaring (and drawbacks), then you can make a better educated guess about what is available to you that fits the criteria you're looking for.

RDMll... I want to cellar beers because I don't like the alcohol heat that comes with a lot of the big dogs. I figure cellaring them for a year will help that immensely. But I want to buy the best beers out there and it seems a ton of the big imperial stouts that I want aren't available in my distro. That's why I came here to see if anyone has any good suggestions for beers that see to notch, cellar well, and available here in Vegas

Typo, that should say "top notch, cellar well, and available in Vegas"

    Old Rasputin...No question,

Raley's/BelAir has it, they should have a few others as well

you'd also likely have more luck posting in the vegas regional forum (US-Mountain? I believe). You'll likely get more hits there.
