I never understood that either. I mean me and a lot of my friends love doritos, but those lay-heads only ever think about Lay Lay Lays. All Days.

Anyway to answer the question, a fair response would be to take a dump into a bag of Lays, and server it at your next party. That'll show them.

not only that, but you brought your own beer anyways (well, you made your wife run out and buy beer for you), so it's not like there was some no-beer-at-all rule?

the OP is a lawyer. I'm not shocked by this behavior and I'm impressed he didn't sue her for some breach of something or other...

Revenge you call it? To each their own. I call it a taste of her own medicine.

FYI - I am not a litigator. And something tells me if you needed a lawyer your tune would change.

FYI - my wife volunteered. If you have a long-term marriage, you don't make your wife do anything.

Easy. Have a Tex-Mex themed party and serve only Doritos.

You should've bought your own beer to the party. I always bring my own beer to every party knowing I'm usually the only one that appreciates good beer.

Mill house brewing in poughkeepsie. I enjoyed their beer and the food was great. They had wine and liquor as well. Atmosphere was nice and casual

Jamie will be at our stout tasting Saturday, I will for sure tell him you all suggested Mill House. I third the nomination, great atmosphere, great beer. Bonus is the food is better than at any other brew pub I have been to that fits OP's criteria. I have no idea about the wine selection, I imagine the wines available aren't terrible, but it is all about beer and food at Mill House

When I was there, there were a few people down from me who didn't enjoy me beer. They had plenty of wine to chose from.

    Well this is rather childish.

Would you have rather gone to the party to find nothing but Bud Light?

Alrighty then! Get down with your own bad self and let us know how it turned out. :grinning:
I find it interesting that --on a site called BeerAdvocate-- anyone would consider forcing "good beer" on people who don't like beer. Am I reading too much into this, my ninja turtle-y friend? After all, you did say that you were projecting. But I don't ever recall the notion of Beer Advocacy as elucidated on this very site as having to do with forcing people to engage in imbibing in or partaking of a beverage choice which they do not already tend to (generally) appreciate.

Oh well, I'm sure that we'll all hear back from Otis P. and how his plan turned out -- right? Or maybe he was bored at work when he made his original post -- we've all been there. :sunglasses:

For what it's worth, whenever I am invited to a gathering, I always bring at least -some- beer ("good" beer in cans, "bad" imported beer in longneck / green glass, really crappy regional beers from Minhas, whatever!) to share with whomever might care to sample it or even indulge with drunken abandon. At the least the host will find it to be part of a long-running "beer guy's gag", and at most, I will be sen as someone with lowbrow taste who doesn't enjoy wine or premium-branded spirits.

At any rate, there's never been anyone who's suggested to me that I was rude for doing so.

There's no hurry to implement the plan . . . but it will be implemented. But I was also bored at work.

So the woman's father drank too much and beer was his drink of choice and she's therefore hesitant to serve it at parties. I can see why you'd take this personally and want to "give her a taste of her own medicine."
This is pretty spiteful stuff. Maybe a little empathy would do well in this situation.

I love beer and I'm always a little bummed when there isn't any beer served at a party, but I wouldn't have any friends anymore if I took things like that personally and sought revenge for disappointing party offerings.

Take them to Peekskill and have some good food and great beer while they enjoy some wine and everyone will have a nice time.
