That's still an improvement over having to go to a State Store to buy even a single bottle of any wine at all.

(Same thing for beer. Buying a 6er in a grocery store or retail distributor is still better than having to buy them in a bar.)

@rgordon , it's not that I'm not keeping up, it's just that I'm not one to let the truth get in the way of a good story. Know what I mean? :grinning:

An even better 'improvement' would be for you to travel to Total Wine & More in Claymont, DE.
    • Large selection of wine to choose from
    • Reasonable prices
    • No sales tax
    • Knowledgeable staff that can actually answer your question and provide meaningful help
    • etc.
    Cheers!

So I take it that you're happier with the selection, prices and staff in the wine section than you are with those same things in the beer section?

    Yup!!

I infrequently make it down to Total Wine & More but when I do the vast majority of my purchases are wine. I will occasionally purchase beer but the age of the beer is a problem; I have frequently picked beer up for purchase and immediately placed it back down due to its age. Also, the staff in the beer section are much less knowledgeable in comparison to the wine staff. I can't even guess how many times I have asked beer questions to be responded with a blank stare. This rarely happens with the wine staff. And when I do talk to somebody about wine and they don't know the answer they enthusiastically take me to another employee who knows the answer to my query.

    Cheers!

P.S. Don't even get me going about the non-conversations I have had with State Store employees. :slight_frown:

I've been here more times than I can remember, and this was a first.
