I was like you for many years. My favorites were always doppelbocks and Russian Imperial Stouts. Although I still love these, through constant sampling, I have learned to like IPAs, especially NEIPAs. The best thing to do is keep tasting!!!

Can’t imagine you’d find much to dislike with Framboise, lots of fruit, I have a hard time thinking of it as beer, but whatever, it’s refreshing not super high in alcohol, and readily available. Lindemans is available most anywhere. If I had access to New Glarus fruited beers I’d be happy as hell, they’re tremendous but a very small footprint. Your in Ct so Allagash will probably have something to your liking.

Let me add of even macro beers like Bud or Miller Lite are offensive, maybe beers just not your thing. Maybe you’d enjoy a glass of wine instead, no offense intended, some guys don't really like beer, so why force it.

Go with what you like, there are many different brews within each category worth checking out.

If you have a brewery you love drink their stuff until you feel the urge to try something else.

If it's a style thing, look at how ba's have reviewed/rated beers within that style and try those that appeal to you. Dont be a slave to ratings, each of us has our own tastes.

Hops are truly the bitterness of beer...

however, they are not everything in relation to a beer possibly being bitter.

Belgian styled beers, often have as part of their makeup added candi sugar which gives a contrast to hop bitterness of a good solid sugary sweetness. It all depends, Belgian IPAs are bitter also... just differently than other IPA styles.

Ommegang makes many Belgian style beers, as do plenty of other breweries domestically in the USA.

They do this VERY well might I add.

If you enjoy tripels, dubbels, quads, the classic Belgian style pale and strong ales beers seek out some of the classics and go from there.

It's a big world out there... and it's a great time to explore. If you like a certain beer, find out it's styles.. and try MANY other examples of that style from other breweries.

Since you enjoy Ommegang, that's great, but also try some of the benchmarks of Belgian beers of certain styles as well... it's a big world over there... and let me tell you something...

    It only gets better...
