I will be visiting Ireland the first week of October from the United States (Minnesota)
I'm looking for possible in person trades and best places for beer/whiskey.

    Thanks

My favorite beer places in Dublin are at www.BeerGuideDUB.com

Can't help you much on the whiskey side -- most places seemed to have a decent selection but I'm not knowledgeable to judge them.

Whereabouts in Ireland? I'm assuming you'll pass through Dublin at some point during your trip. If you do don't miss The Porterhouse in Temple Bar. They brew 6-10 beers on site but also have an extensive beer list and loads of whiskeys.

Either way, wherever you go in Ireland you will find some great beers and whiskeys. Definitely one of my favorite countries to travel to.

Hey I’ve written some fairly long posts on this previously so if you take a look at this thread you should see plenty of information https://www.beeradvocate.com/commun...reland-may-19-27-what-to-look-out-for.571244/

I could definitely look to sort out a trade just shoot me a message.

In terms of whiskey the off licenses that I mentioned in the above link should all have a good selection. I’d also add https://www.celticwhiskeyshop.com and https://www.lmulliganwhiskeyshop.com if you’re in Dublin.

I assume that you're going to be in Dublin at some point? I think the best bet in Dublin currently if you're looking for Cantillon and Drie Fontenien is https://www.drinkstore.ie/ and then very near that is Fresh in Smithfield Square http://freshthegoodfoodmarket.ie/locations/ I've seen large bottles of Drie Fontenien Hommage in Fresh fairly recently and Drinkstore usually has a good selection of Lambic - it depends when you go these but you should be able to pick up some Cantillon.

I would say as a general point not to just focus on justCatnillon and 3F- there's a massive amount of craft beer in Europe at the moment that we have access to in Ireland so I wouldn't spend too much time worrying about hunting down those Lambics!

Any questions just let me know I live in Dublin so I am happy to help.

I'll be in Dublin next week as well, traveling in from Chicago. I'll be there for work, but hope to have some time to explore the city.

drinkstore don't necessarily keep their website up to date, but I was in today + had chat with them.
For 3F, the website is right: Hommage (for €47!) Armand & Gaston, Oude Gueuze + Oude Kriek.
Cantillon he only has Gueuze in 750ml + Kriek in 375ml, but there's a shipment due into Ireland in mid-late October.
None of this is likely to change before next week.

Fresh is renovating - adding new fridges - so they don't have all their beer displayed.
Having said that, I've often seen 3F there + never seen Cantillon.

Redmonds in Ranelagh is worth a peak: I saw 3F Intense Red + Golden Blend there not too far back.
It's just 3 stops south from Stephen's Green on the Green line LUAS (tram.)

I'd agree with @LiamoMill: even just for Belgian sours, there are finds like Oud Beersel here - don't limit yourself to those 2 breweries (unless you're thinking of trade value.)

DM me if you're interested in trading.

The Guinness storehouse is a neat experience, but you'll have to tolerate the beer. However, the food made with this stout on-site are very good and hearty!

The view is awesome and nearly worth the ticket

When I went, down a level or two was a place that sold various bottled versions, so I did a tasting with the Extra Stout and Foreign Stout (plus the draft). The tourists look at me strangely but I'm used to that

Thanks for your input on this. I just booked a flight to Brussels just for a day. Is there anything you are interested in from the Minnesota/Midwest area?

Nice move. A couple of friends happen to be at Cantillon today; here's the menu:

I'm Dublin-based, too; I'd be happy to trade for fresh Abrasive or anything from Toppling Goliath.

Sorry I didn't see this until now. I would have brought those with me. I am at O'Connell's pub. Are the bottles on the right in house only?
