I think it'd be pretty cool if breweries marked a small line on their label which indicates when I've poured out exactly half the beer. I often share my beers, without matching glassware, and can never seem to pour them equally. This would my life easier. Thanks.

Measuring cup? Or perhaps not stressing over an ounce or so difference?

I'd take bottled on date over this all day, every day.
Once bottling date is more standard, maybe I'd give this a thought.

    I can't disagree with that.

Not a bad idea on second thought. And I really do like Reggie Watts.

... then how do I determine how much is half the beer?

Practice with used bottle and water.
    Fill.
Pour what looks to be half in measuring cup.
    Fine tune.
    Note where mark should be.
    Refill bottle.

    Repeat as needed.

Then, with beer, mark bottle, pour two portions, and you and friend drink.

A mark on the bottle won't tell you when you've poured the right amount, only if the amount you've already poured was too much or not enough. And then only after the foam dies down, and only if the bottle is filled to the exact correct level and the label applied at the exact correct height.

You could mark the 6oz line on your glasses. I have a Flying Dog shaker pint that came like that.

That's a great solution, and I'd trust it better than a line on a label (which could definitely vary depending on how strictly the labels were applied).

Yeah, just approximate, with a little more going to my guest. Who cares if it's half or not? There's plenty to go around!

Hold the bottle up to eye level. When you are pouring, make the first pour until the bottle is completely vertical and the liquid is halfway down the neck and mouth. Stop pouring. You just poured half a bottle.

Um. It would be about halfway up the bottle.
Have you noticed that breweries don't always apply labels at exactly the same height on the bottle? They also don't fill every bottle to exactly the same level. I think what you're asking for is basically impossible.
And if you don't like my Sharpie idea, why can't you just put the two glasses side by side and fill them equally?
Point is, there's got to be a simpler way to address your "problem" than to ask 2,500 breweries to change all their label designs.
