I think "craft enthusiasts" is probably the most accurate. They're very enthusiastic! Deeply knowledgeable? Not so much

    Right on.

Seems like on BA and when just talking about, a lot of people laud/praise things that they really don't even drink much of.

    $ALE$ talk, BS walks.

I get the impression that many people on this forum don't buy any beer on a regular basis.

It's not a word but i think we should call them BBDs (better beer drinkers) and leave it at that.

I know. Reading through these varied learned pieces on German versus Czech Pils, and the various types of Czech Pils is refreshing, and making me thirsty. I hate that some SN seasonals seem to be left over in some areas, but Sierra Nevada's commitment to quality production of a vast array of beers is nonetheless remarkable. This thread is proof of that!

I'm a Beerosaur: Old enough to have seen many fits and starts of this great modern beer "thing", and always looking to be pleasantly surprised, and to re-evolve accordingly.

Huge Sierra Nevada fan. Thier Kolsch is outstanding. Get ready for some big time collabs coming from Sierra Nevada. By far, the best "seasonal" variety pack they offer is the Summer Pack.

Agreed, I'd love to get 6ers of the Coffee Stout, or the collab milk coffee stout with Ninkasi from a couple years back.

I don't have issue with drinking 60-90 day old SN stuff, but I will say that rarely will I buy a hoppy style that already has 30 days on it at the time of purchase. If its going to potentially sit in the beer fridge for 3-6 weeks, I just can't justify for my palate more age on the beer at the time of purchase. Lastly, there are certain beers that I really try to get/consume with less than two weeks on them (PtE being a prime example, love it with less than 10 days on it...still great with 3-4 weeks but not quite the same for my palate).

I've been locked in Amber Ale for some time! Some things never change, really.

Just wanted to chime in because your avatar caught my attention for some reason. forgive me it's Saturday night.

On topic, OP, I'm on my path to try everything that Sierra Nevada produce and more ideas are welcome for sure. The only one that seem available around these parts are the mercurial Pale Ale, Torpedo, Stout, porter, Bigfoot and Hop Hunter. Cheers

No. Hop Hunter is actually still pretty good with 3-4 months on it so in a can maybe it stays fresh longer and the old stock is a bit better.

I won't be buying it in any format since its out of my price right now but it's a real nice beer.

    Enjoy
