A sixer of 16oz cans is 33% better than a sixer of 12oz bottles or cans.

The fourth beer is a chore and you rate everything? Hmmm. Try this. Buy beer, drink and enjoy. Repeat as needed. 12 pack, cans or bottles work, cases as well. 4 x 16 oz works too.

12oz or 16oz is fine. Just depends on how much exercise I want that day.

Making up my own 6 pack is optimum, especially when trying something new. As for consumption, I actually prefer 16oz cans into 20oz glasses. It just seems right. A 12oz beer into a 20oz glass mentally (that would be me) feels like I've just shortchanged myself.

@papposilenus If that 4th beer proves to be unworthy that day, why not give it to your family or friends? My son-in-law gets a lot of freebies from me, and he brings me beer every now and again.

I really like the 16 oz cans. I would be okay with 6 packs of them, but I see why they don't

4pk of 16oz cans typically fits within my preferences. Unless we are talking about late spring into summer, then the 15pk of PC Pils from Founders is just about ideal.

Since I am so easily led astray, 16 oz 4pks for anything less than 8% alcohol.
12 oz 6 pks for anything over 8.
Just my strategy, all other things being equal, when I shop...

12 oz bottles are too small to me. I generally drink a beer a day, and a 16 oz can is perfect. Weekends I drink a little more and still prefer 16 oz cans. It's the perfect amount to really taste and enjoy. Also, they fit in the fridge better.

I also think a four pack is perfect.

Barrel aged stouts I prefer a bomber, but split with a friend. I rarely enjoy that much BA stout by myself. I end up struggling to finish it.

They tried to make us convert to metric when I was a kid. It was probably just a trick to rob us of, like, a third of a teaspoon of beer.

I don't. Around here they started as six packs of 16 oz, then went to 4 packs at the same price, and now 4 packs of 12 oz at a higher price. Why? Because they can get away with it. I can easily afford them but no longer buy them because I'll be damned if I'm going to reinforce bad behavior.

To me there is no one ideal beer size. They're style and ABV specific.
I split 99% of big beers (8%+ ABV) with my wife, so for those I prefer bombers or 750ml bottles.
For anything 5% and below I like the 1/2L or 16oz size. They're close enough that I don't care that they aren't exactly the same.
For something between 5-8%, I'm all for normal 'ol 12oz bottles or cans.
For big beer singles, I wouldn't mind the rare 10oz bottle as long as the pricing was appropriate.

6x16 is the winner......even better is 6x500ml .......4x16 I always think I am losing out a bit vs a 6x12.......6x16 I feel like I made out especially when Stone AB is $10.99 plus 10% off and Stone Go To is $9.99 plus 10% off..........4x12 I always feel cheated unless its a BA or High ABV

    Enjoy

1 16oz can is usually my perfect daily beer quantity if in the 5.5%-8% ABV range. Over 8% and its a little more than I generally want in a sitting plus the belly pudge increases over a few weeks of drinking those daily, and I really don't want to increase exercise to counter-balance.

2 12oz bottles/cans of 5-8% beer, is also about my wheelhouse per day as well or just 12 oz. of a 8-12% beer.

I would love to see absolutely everything in 12 Oz cans and/or bottles. I've made it my personal goal for the year to downsize the number of bombers I purchase and have laying around. I'm doing so by trading them off for equivalent small format stuff whenever possible. There are still some must-haves I'll tolerate only being able to get in a large format, but for the most part I am trying to be done with bombers since my opportunities for sharing are vastly outnumbered by the hoard of big bottles I have stockpiled. Serious first world problems...

I like 16 oz cans for 6-9% ABV beers and 12 oz for anything over 9%. Not a fan of anything larger. I guess I don't think about it too much.

I wish everything was available in 7-ounce bottles, like Schoenling Little Kings. But not GREEN 7-ounce bottles.

Most of the breweries local to me have gone to cans. 12 oz. for the brews in fairly broad distribution and 16 oz. for the more limited releases. I prefer the 16 oz. cans in 4 packs, that's the right amount for me.
