If We're Following Someone?

I didn't see any recent postings on this idea at least, for all I know there could be some earlier, and I apologize if there already are, but if we're following someone, I understand we can put their username in the search box and see their content and reviews. But this doesn't seem that easy and kinda makes me wonder about the "following feature" than the "friend feature" (from the old days or at least when I joined [I'm not exactly a veteran just yet]), I remember going to one of my BA friends and being able to see their reviews. Will there eventually be a feature that will allow us to see our followers and followings reviews a bit quicker rather than type in their name? For lack of better words, and please don't take this in a harsh manner, but what's the point in following someone?
