With all the talk about favorite beers ... I was wondering if you could only have 2 styles for the rest of your life what would they be? One has to be a strong catagory like RIS or DIPA and another a common such as IPA or Lager.

Mine would be American Barelywine and APA.

    Gueuze and American IPA.

Maybe AWA because it's so vague.

I'm gonna go with "Top Fermented" and "Bottom Fermented" (and miss the occasional wild yeast brew).

Gueuze and APA(?). This is a hard question.

It would have to be "American Double Imperial Stout" and IPA I would say.

    Depends where I'm living, haha.

    Warm climate: Geuze/DIPA
    Cold climate: English barleywine/RIS
Mixed climate: 1 from each above (toss up)

There's no way in hell that I could be confined to having only 2 styles..

Okay, I know that's not what you meant. IPA & Stout (and I'm lumping imperials in there, too).

Tough one. I'd have to do American Pale Ale and Double/Imperial Stout. Although I don't like leaving the Belgians and Sours out in the cold.

Damn you! It's like picking your favorite children!

    Oatmeal Stouts for sure.

Not sure what the second one would be. A couple months ago I would be shocked to know I might suggest this for myself but after discovering Deschutes Red Chair I might have to say Pale Ale. Finally a beer in the style I absolutely love and its a style that I probably wouldn't get tired of in general.
