Hopefully I will start once I move to a place that has room for my beer experiments.

I generally can't give up an entire day (or half day to brew) and I also just don't have the space to do what I want to do if I could do it.

My brain lies on the creative side of things. I like cooking but can't bake. I play music but couldn't build my own instruments. I'd be willing to collaborate with a home brewer on thinking up a brew, but I can't deal with minute measurements and such worth shit.

    This.

My wife already hates cleaning up from the meals I cook (but she does it, and I'm grateful).

Absolutely NO WAY I could convince her to to help me clean up the mess I'd make from brewing. At least she gets some enjoyment from the food I cook (she rarely drinks beer). Plus, I like drinking a different beer every day...I always have at least 3-5 different types of beer around (and at times, many more than this).

I voted "other" mainly for the sake of space and that I have lots of hobbies as it is. My current beer/wine cellar already takes up a fair amount of room and other space is dominated by fishing/hunting equipment

Plus home brewing takes up valuable time that could be spent chasing whalez broz

I used to home brew when I had the time. Lately, I just don't. I will, soon I hope...!

My friends are already great home brewers, their beer is great and free...hard to beat that.

The best brews I've ever had have been homebrews from different friends. I learned a lot about hops & developed a habit for very fresh IPAs through homebrewing.
I suggest kegging so you can force carbonate to get finished beer fast and no hassles with bottling and extra sanitation issues. I put a good 10 gallon system with kegerator, all the bells and whistles, for around $1600.

I live in a studio. No space. When I get space, I'll get to brewing.

A little of all of the above right now. I do want to get into homebrewing in the future, but now isn't the time. I'd most likely wait until I have my own apartment and intend on staying in one place for awhile. I see myself possibly traveling a lot, so it just isn't worth lugging things around or storing it in the near future.

Plus the boyfriend home brews, so I can just help him when he does his thing.

I don't have a lot of extra time or the start up money for the supplies right now. Really hope that changes in the next year, I really want to try brewing my own beer.

No time to read the whole thread, but other: I don't have the space in my house. Money is a close second, but I literally have no room for any sort of home brew set-up. I barely have room for the stuff I do have. Hell, some of my furniture is still in my mom's one bedroom apartment. Believe it or not, her place is bigger than my actual house. Thankfully, the bf and I plan to move within a few months, so once we settle in, home brewing will hopefully be an option. We're both interested and have friends that can guide us along.
