Your best bet is Craft Pride for TX beers. Also, Whole Foods will probably be the cheapest in that area but they have a more limited selection.

If you have a car... East 1st Grocery aint far from there. Under 2 miles. They're probably your best bet for bottles/cans (I know for a fact they still have Half IPA left).

Whole Foods is going to be the closest place for growlers (although they only have 6-7 taps). Craft Pride is definitely a bar you should be hitting up and they have bottles to-go as well in their shop.

Craft Pride fills growlers as well - and I believe it was actually reasonably priced.

They do? That's honestly something I didn't know they did. I asked right when they first opened and got "well, we might do that in the future," but never followed up on it.

Yeah, when I was in Austin a month or so ago I got a growler of Thirsty Planet Buckethead from Craft Pride. It was no problem for them to fill one of my Houston growlers.

Yeah, they 100% do it now.

So, it is a good place to go for any Texas beer that you want if you are downtownish.

Only place you'll find Einhorn at this point is at the brewery I think. Stop by the Friday Happy Hour. They had Einhorn with blackberries this past Friday, and it was delicious.

Much easier said than done. You have to get tickets within 5 min of them going on sale.

So Quickie Pickie just tapped a keg of Einhorn today and is filling growlers for $17.

I do not know if it'll last til the weekend though.

$17 is a rip. but I guess options are limited.

I got a few 64oz fills for $9 at Whole Foods FWIW (nothing now)

Uncle Billy's is within pretty easy walking distance, but if you want to visit a couple local beer bars while you're here, you really need to know about the #3 bus. It'll get you to downtown, Hopfields, Draughthouse, Pinthouse Pizza, Growler Room, and if you're feeling really adventurous, North by Northwest. Check weekend schedules so you don't get stuck taking a cab back.

Ehhh... in this 105 degree heat we're having, I wouldn't walk to Uncle Billy's. that's gotta be at least a mile, if not more. During the day, you might keel over, lol.

You're right, it's a mile even. Looked shorter on the map. I used to walk further than that to the Saucer and Draught House in all weather, but in any case, it turns out the #30 bus will also get you from the hotel to Uncle Billy's, or to a #3 bus stop.
