for work Monday 12/16 - Friday 12/. Anything cool beer-related things happening? I plan on hitting a couple breweries (Modern Times, Societe) and stopping into a couple bottle shops. I saw that there an event called Santa's Secret Stash going on at Small Bar, and a few others. Anyone attended this in the past? Worth doing?

Anything else cool going on? Looking forward to getting out of this friggin' cold!

I haven't heard of anything specific (granted, I haven't been paying a lot of attention), but I thought I would relay that it was 33 yesterday morning about a mile from the coast. Yeah, I know it isn't that negative 20 stuff that Minnesota gets, but still...

Right now everybody seems all excited about some sort of Midwestern beer that ABInBev is distributing.

Ha, I was going to recommend the Secret Stash! I've done it the past couple years, and I think it's worth doing. It's usually crowded but not uncomfortably so, and they definitely have a decent amount of amazing beer between the three bars. Plus I'm always a fan of events that bus me between bars.

Unfortunately next week is a bit of a lull in SD’s normal beer craziness – normally I have multiple things listed on my calendar, but Secret Stash is the only thing I have for that week. It’s an awesome event though, and I’m definitely going again this year. I’m hoping that since it’s a Thursday it won’t be quite as crowded as last year (which was a Saturday).

Great, well I'll plan on hitting the Secret Stash. No need for big events, always plenty of great places to grab craft beer in town. Thanks!

If you've never been to O'Briens I'd recommend going there. Usually have Alpine and Russian River on tap. It's not all that cool or exciting, just a solid tap list.

Swing by Pizza Port's locations for a wide range of local brews on tap. Bonus: The Carlsbad Pizza Port has a bottle shop next door with a good selection, including Pliny The Elder IPA that is hard to find even in Southern California.
