Hey folks, I'm heading up to the Yukon for the first time ever, and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of what I could find up there in the way of interesting brews. Is Yukon Brewing the only major craft brewery up that way or are their more? I suppose anything from Alaska would be a solid suggestion as well, as I'll be going to Skagway for a day-trip as well. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
Yukon Brewing is the only brewery up there but luckily they make good to great beer. Lead Dog Ale is excellent and their red ale is a go to beer. I would certainly buy a bunch of beers of beers in Alaska as it is the equivalent of me going to Washington State. ( ie. cheaper beers, better selection, )
Yeah I live right on the border near Pt. Roberts so I take advantage of all the cheap American craft beers they sell there from Washington, Oregon, Cali, and Alaska...thanks for the heads up on which Yukon Brews to try! Looks like there's a decent brewery in Skagway to check out, too.
