Most of the time you aren't going to hear someone describe a stout as cold, crisp, and refreshing. On the flip side, a lot of people might agree if I described Zombie Dust that way.

In the heat of summer, I want a beer that _feels_ as good as dumping a cold bottle of water over my head. Taste, on the other hand is irrelevant.

For me, lower ABV in hot weather. Color means little.

Depends on the setting. If I'm in the comfy air conditioned confines of my house, then I don't mind a heavy stout in mid July at all. But, if I'm outside in July-August in the southern Texas heat, no way do I want anything heavy like that. Give me a summer seasonal any day, especially when golfing. In winter though I'll drink just about anything.

Mostly a seasonal drinker here. Until very recently in PA I bought most of my beer by the case and I insist on buying my beer fresh when there's a whole case involved, even to the point that if its not dated, I don't buy it. Seasonal releases are a great way to be sure something is fresh. So in the Winter I'll be found drinking Troeg's Nugget Nectar and in the summer their Sunshine Pils. Both get to me fresh and the weather outside is not a major factor.

mostly seasonal, I will drink anything at anytime and do and will, but I gravitate the other way most of the time...

Definitely prefer it, would rather drink a good Kolsch than some giant barrel aged imperial stout when it's 92F+ outside.

Although I'll probably break that rule tonight...

    Proud seasonal drinker here.

If I drank any beer, any time...what would I look forward to?! Seasonal drinking is just a big, year round cycle of happy, boozy reunions.

I don't want to sit outside in 90 degree weather and 50%+ humidty and drink a 10%+ BA imperial stout. But that is just me. In the winter, the heavier beers make me feel "warmer".

I will drink heavier beers in summer, but usually less and mostly indoors.

I've actually been craving more stouts/barleywines lately that sours, which is weird to me. Not on the deck at 6pm, but later in the evening when it's cooled down.

seldom do I day drink and work late night... have air conditioning so stouts work in any season while it's cold and dark around me

I am a seasonal drinker. It makes me appreciate certain styles more if I wait to have them. Also, as silly as it may read, it feels more structured.

I truly have no preference. I will say that a Weihenstephaner Hefe, when you're out working in the Oklahoma heat during the summer, is ambrosia in a bottle.

I'm more of what you'd called a 'seasoned' drinker...

I think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone that won't drink certain style any time of year, it's that people drink more of certain styles during different parts of the year.

Of course, we don't really have seasons outside of "Fogust" in SF. I definitely polished off more wheats, pilsners, lower abv IPAs, berliners, goses, and Mexican lagers in hotter months and bigger, higher abv beers like barleywines and stouts in the colder times when I lived back east.

Definitely seasonal. Nothing beats a well-crafted marzen to me in the fall, but you won't catch me drinking one any other time of year. I drink stouts year-round, but I do drink more of them in the winter. Same with saisons in the spring and summer.

Seasonal to me is not that rigid as "none of this" during "this month". I tend to enjoy what's fresh, and tend to find if I follow brewery releases that are based around traditional drinking seasons, I'm happy. So don't feel bad for me, I like it that way.

I drink more low gravity, low abv beers in the summer heat. In the cold ( roughly college hoops season) I drink stouts, quads and barleywine.

I'm not a strict seasonal person. I'll drink Maibock in the fall, or marzen whenever.

It's not the heat, it's the insects. If I'm sitting out on the lawn swilling triples and pass out, the mosquitos and deer fly will suck me dry. In cooler weather, my wife can simply throw a blanket over me.

Seasonal - Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter... or are we talking about Lente, Zomer, Herfst, and Winter? I'll drink those too.

In college I once drank Old Rasputin on a 110+ heat index day and got very sick to my stomach. Really ruined a great summer day. I'm not positive that it was the beer and not something I ate, but I have not risked drinking big thick beers when grilling out on summer afternoons since. I'll still drink them after the sun goes down and it cools off though.

Beyond that, some beers that I love are seasonal. I can't get Märzens, Maibocks and others year round, so I drink a lot of them during their season.
