Hi this is my first time on this site so I apologize it I possibly posted thin on the correct forum
I’m opening a small bottle shop in California where you can both buy and drink at the location. My question is that I’m unsure if I have to install a three hole sink even though I won’t have any glasses or plates because I won’t be cooking. I’m assuming I need to spill any unfinished beer down the drain but am unsure if it has to be a three hole sink or could be a single. My liquor license will be a # 40 so I will have to provide snacks. Nothing crazy probably just chips. Overall I don’t know how to go about it legally and don’t know who to talk too. I’d hate to say it but it’s going to be almost like a rest stop because I’m off a highway. My building is small so I want to keep it simple.

While you made find some useful information here if you are opening a business related to selling alcohol you are better off hiring a lawyer familiar with the law and licensing requirements for your state. Good luck with your business!

No glasses yet people sipping onsite?! If sipping onsite is part of the plan, you will have to have glasses. And to have "beer clean" glassware - which you must - you need a 3 sink system to clean, rinse, and apply sanitizer.

    Plastic funnels and no-kink tubing.

Full disclosure: I'm not a lawyer.

Correct, if you are washing glassware you need this. I'm assuming you are on city water so you'll want a carbon filter cartridge to remove chlorine which leaves a stinky residue.

    "have to"? "need this"?
    Man, I hate the internet....

Most places I know of use a dishwasher.

I'm sure this was a well intended post, but this isn't the right forum to ask these questions. Whoever you are working with for your ABC license is a better source of information.

A rest stop bar off the highway to get drunk and drive sounds like a recipe for disaster.
