What? You've never tried Whitbread Double Brown? A lovely beer.

Unfortunately no. Neither the original (a bit before my time), nor the rebrewed/recreated version you had a hand in at Yards.

Pretty Things and Florence in London have brewed it, too. Cracking beer.

Good to hear. Shame that one is out of business and the other is 8-10 hours away by plane, train and tube. (It may indeed be a tasty pint but hardly one worth several hundred dollars. )

Perhaps I'll be making another business trip to London one day and if so I'll remember to visit South London to see what's on offer.

Imperial Small Beer....weighing in at a whopping 5.5, or perhaps 6 %. Even better if it were, say, "pale" in color...generously hopped around 30ibus and made with an ale yeast. I'm sure there is a more marketable name for this style of beer.

It was a one-off at the Florence, I'm afraid.

Pester a local brewer to brew it. It's one of the best recipes I have. Oh, and suggest they pay me for the trouble of harvesting the recipe. You'd be amazed how many breweries expect me to work for free*.

    * Not Pretty Things. And not ABInbev**.

** My AbInbev beer is one of my most exciting projects ever. Should be bottled next month. Can't wait to taste it.
