Some of the variations I didnt care for, but most I have seriously dug. Gotta Four Roses ready to crack soon too.

I tried the Corn Whiskey version last year at a tasting. It was very very good.
I just can't justify spending $28 - $30 (the range I see them here) on a bottle of beer.

I dug all of the three I was able to try...

High West Rye (lime green wax)

    Java Coffee (lavender pearl wax)

    Four Roses Bourbon (red wax)

... but the Java Coffee really stood out for me - so much, in fact, that even at $33/bottle in my area, I went back and had a second bottle.

    Cheers!

Between me and my brother we got every variant of it, minus the vanilla one. We've had makers mark, four roses, Elijah Craig and java. Elijah and java were delicious and to me worth the price. Makers mark and four roses I wasn't overly impressed with, I though they were average, my brother didn't like them. Lookin forward to the rest.

I looked back and every indication from Todd at 50-50 is that no Pappy went into distro -- it was sold at the release party and then at the brewery until gone. Perhaps somebody got hold of some bottles and re-sold them, but I cannot believe it was just $30 like the others. If it is Pappy, then the wax is pink, the bottle is signed by Todd and there is a neck tag identifying it as Pappy. I bought two cases of it with my buddies.

I have the Pappy. Anyone know what the approximate bottle count was on it?

I still have a bottle of the 2012 rebel yell (sparkly red wax) was hoping to land the base beer totality before I pop it open. But I'm definitely excited I've never had any of their brewers before.

They are fun, I found though personally if I didn't like the base spirit (whiskey) then I didn't seem to care much for the beer.

    Back in 2012..

    Elijah Craig 12

    Evan Williams

    Bernheim

    Old Fitzgerald

    Rittenhouse Rye

They can be good beers, but some of the variants aren't all that great. The prices are out of control though.

They are all worth a try if u can find/afford them. Went to release party this year and couldn't find one I didn't like. Favorites...java and vannila, also great mixed together.

I really want to try one of these but they've never made it to shelves around here.

I have 3 in stock and IMO they are great beers, the EC 20 is perhaps the best stout I've ever had. The $30 price point puts off a lot of guys, but if you look at the on line stores who carry them they are always out in every variant. So it's obvious someone likes them. I'd like them better at $20 though.

It's very good beer, but under no circumstances should it cost more then $20. Realistically it should be priced around $15. And no, it's not as good as other barrel aged stouts on the market

It's probably rated so high because it tastes like money...

Elijah Craig 20 year old barrel, really a stunning example of a Ba Stout. Only brewed once so it's not so easy to find.
